Okibi did a how to some years ago probably +5 yrs - part of the secret is using a bench polisher- doing it by hand is going to be a slow process. The other way is actually find a metal polisher - i.e. the bloke that does the work - they work fast and not necessarily expensive but not sure these days if there are many left. I do agree that it looks terrific- STM has done a mighty job - on old motorcycles it was a common thing to do that is polish the timing covers and primary chain covers- the allow I reckon looks even better than chrome.

Starting with the cam cover a few months ago
Seriously the plenumn was done like last year. But the same deal. Lots of hrs. Sometimes i used machines....but the deepes shine i get by hand.....

Yoy could perhaos get it sandblasted which woould reduce the hrs sanding

I am really envious as there is nothing I like more than "shiny".
It would be pretty impossible to do 'in situ' so I guess there is no chance of mine looking like that.

AutoSol has 2 types of polish

Metal & aluminium.

Ive found the Metal stuff to better. Even on Aluminum.

Or at least to the naked eye....the metal polish just seem clearer...but its only a fraction

That's impressive work STM. I've done some small polishing jobs and would never consider tackling anything of that size myself.

Isn't the heat shield steel though which means it'll be a bit of a pain to maintain in that condition?

I had the OPPOSITE problem when I annodised black some of my aluminium pieces.

Yes all parts require maintenance. Water, fingerprints general humidity.will flatten the mirror shine especially on the polished alloy. It needs to be done every few weeks. I will probably spend 5 min each every few weeks and keep it maintained.
Unsure how diligent ill be with the heat shield to be honest cause there is also the enlarges alluminium Mania intake to be mauntained

I fitted the chrome mirrors I picked up from Car Make Corns. The glass has a blue tint. I didn’t realise until I unpacked them at home. Luckily I like it.

Finally got around to ordering and fitting anti-rattle springs to the rear brake pads. Big reduction in noise over bumps/expansion joints in the road, wish I’d done it sooner!
