Congrats! I'm still hoping I can get my car all sorted for a run at the 2019 event. Lots of testing to do between now and then though

I'm seriously thinking about going for a 5th year if I can get under 1:50 this year.TCR wrote:I'm still hoping I can get my car all sorted for a run at the 2019 event

That's the beauty of Time Attack. Build a car, race against the clock, and then then work on improving both it and the driver to always chase that next PB.

Took me a few years to learn this but it is the best method and the most rewarding. Yes finishing first is the best but bettering yourself through effort and learning is a good reward.
I will say I pushed hard last year to finish on top of the MX5 Car club QLD championship but doing my first sub 60 of QR sprint and going faster than the year before at WTAC gave me a greater sense of satisfaction...

Re: The Roadster NA Journey Begins
A busy day... found a crack in the windscreen, moved stuff around,
Managed to finally get the 4 x tyre temps logging. I have added the LR temp to the dash as this is the tyre I normally overheat. Another 'bonus' is these are logged at 50Hz as not on the Haltech CAN.
Also moved the Racelogic display to where the tyre temp display was.
The VBox was moved from behind the drivers seat as well, easier to get at!
Hardtop adjustment...

Re: The Roadster NA Journey Begins
Slowly collecting parts for some of the changes planned. Lowered engine mounts and new diff bushes on their way as well as the heated windscreen. It is off for an alignment on Friday before some big changes to the suspension are done, setting a baseline to evaluate against. May even have a new set of coilovers before October.
However, the heated windscreen did not turn up in time as the OEM windscreen finally decided to get a decent crack and has been replace.
Looks very strange with no numbers or windscreen banner. However at QR on Sunday and Monday it will have a new windscreen banner as well as its number

Such beautiful clear glass! I need to replace mine one day, it's more pockmarked than a teenager's face How much did it cost, if you don't mind?

Shannons insurance - no cost allowed a windscreen each year, even if it is a 'race car'. It is under full insurance at all times except when under its own power. I did ask the question that if I shut the engine down before I hit the wall is it still covered? I was surprised to find that it also covers the motor bike.
Discussing with BC Racing some customisation (valving) options for the BC Racing ZR's.TCR wrote:Sticking with the BCs or changing the coilovers?

Damn. My windshield is pretty awful and chipped, but no cracks that I could claim through insurance.

Re: The Roadster NA Journey Begins
Even if it's "unroadworthy" you can still get it replaced though. Any stars or chips in drivers line of sight?
