Re: SE Intake and Exhaust Upgrade.
Very close to the GST and Duty threshold.
Lacks a middle muffler/hotdog so it might drone a bit.

Yeah, didn't think about that threshold.

Re: SE Intake and Exhaust Upgrade.
I'm sure this Magnaflow system would be good quality, and must admit I don't actually know the cost of Dann's exhaust with delivery compared to this one so I could be way off on this, but I can't imagine there'd be all that much savings in this one - especially if it does hit duty/GST. There's a lot of his exhausts out there on many happy SE owner's cars, and as has been mentioned in reply to my own posts, he'd work with you to ensure you get what you want from it. Maybe you've already discussed this with him? But might be worth it otherwise - nothing to lose.

Re: SE Intake and Exhaust Upgrade.
read the last post
I was doing some housekeeping on some of my 'for sale' threads, and I found a 'road test' I had done on an SMB rear muffler with 2.5in pipe.
Now Magnaflow might be king of the kids, but if you want the real deal you can get one of their works of art.
Long story short, HIGHLY recommended. And no, mine is not for sale.

Re: SE Intake and Exhaust Upgrade.
I can't shed any light on that Kev. It is now part of my backup exhaust, as I think my 3in will be pushing the friendship at the rego inspection station.

mx589 - I've sent you a pm.
Anyone have a working link to the SMB website, or do they no longer exist? I had it bookmarked from years ago but it doesn't work anymore and searches come up empty except various car forum references.

Re: SE Intake and Exhaust Upgrade.
Thanks greenMachine but still only comes up with their basic contact details (unless I'm doing something wrong). Was just hoping to find a proper website to do some reading...looks like they don't have one anymore.

Re: SE Intake and Exhaust Upgrade.
Stuff it, here are some pictures for future searchers. Some of actual SE's some of all 89-05 3" exhausts, because they are close enough to identical year on year except the very front bit for the SE turbo and exact hanger locations.
The are from the 3 bolt flange back (3 pieces total, front pipe, midpipe and rear section), a nice 2.5"->3" conical expander direct from that flange to the 3" front pipe which includes a downpipe brace and a flexxy joint, then a 100 cell bullet style race-cat. Then a 14" large body hotdog resonator, then out past the diff and through a very large 6"x10" muffler which is 16" long. It includes bolts and nuts, gaskets, new rubber hangers and packaging and postage Australia wide and tax, They are $1499. This system is the EXACT one we use on everything from bolt on SE to engineered TwistMount kits to 500hp Time attack machines. So an engineered car which is certified 100% legal we change the cat but the sound test and performance results for both version are identical. Please note that engineered cars need a better cat for emissions which costs an additional $300.
With a droopy tip by request, tacked for final welding.
Some pics of quality, closer up.
Sound video on a T28 NB, its the same but a little quieter on an SE.
Dyno video of the same system behind a GTX twistMount2, to show the systems potential.
Any questions let me know.

Re: SE Intake and Exhaust Upgrade.
That's nice Dann, and that price wouldn't even be a deposit on an SMB from what I recall of the website!

Re: SE Intake and Exhaust Upgrade.
It's also a little cheaper than Manias handmade 2.5" exhaust, so I have offered to send a couple to them on consignment.
