Only in America, "Safety FIRST"...

Postby Lokiel » Sat Mar 24, 2018 10:48 am

Posted on the "Big Forum":

Installed this just a few inches to the right of the shifter... Locking holster so it won't go flying in the event of an accident.

Pretty common.

The cops and anyone protecting an important official has one too.

Us aussie plebs arent worthy of being able to protect ourselves our family or our property though.

Its a pretty sad state of affairs for society when an average pleb has to have a gun just to protect themselves. Or has to think of themselves as the good guy protecting righiosness.. nothing has changed in the USA. They are still in the wild west of the 19th century. USA as a society haS a lot of growing up to do. I have absolutly no problem here in AU with responsible hobby gun owners.
Let the shitfight keyborad war begin.

Yes, I have a have a fire extinguisher and a fire blanket in the kitchen. But "I dont need one , because we have a fire brigade".

I have had to use one once. I have worked in the domestic building industry for over 20 years and have seen the damage caused by fire countless times.

Never seen anyone shot though.

I know of people who have been killed by knifes and beatings , even an intentional use of a motor vehile. Still no guns though.

I dont care about USAs gun control laws. They live with their own mistake. I do care about the unfortunate families and friends. If they wont to do something about it, then DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. If not, then live in fear. What do you expect from a country where half arent even enrolled to vote. The other half only vote for their party like they are following a football team, and only when they feel like it.

Farouk: He say plane fly overhead, drop value. I don't care. In Beirut, plane fly over, drop bomb. I like these planes.

I like Australia for what it is (Iknow its not perfect). For those who bitch and complain about it, travel, live overseas or even just talk to imigrants about the home and family they have had to leave and the reason why and you too will realise how lucky we are. Im with Stan on this one.

A pistol might have helped those people you know who were beaten and stabbed.

I see it like this.

I carry a 2.5" knife everyday, its a tiny little folding knife that clips onto my belt. It gets used all day long from packages to fruit and prying things open when its the closest thing around.

When i go for a skate at 1am its with me because it always is, like my wallet or phone.

Its not so i can stab someone, its there because it always is and is a great tool. However I sure feel better with it that without it in the dodgy parts of town at 1am. And so i should, its a tool to protect me if it has to be. Why people would want tools for protecting people outlawed is completely beyond me.

People should be victims of violent crime, defenseless, instead?

This is not the Wild West. If you feel defenceless without a gun or a knife, you know where you need to move to ...

I just spent a few days up there on lake Macquarie, had a very pleasant time, nice people, nice weather. I was thinking of coming up to say 'hi', but spent too much time sitting by the lake. Maybe it was for the best, if I can't visit without needing to come armed

Whodathunk Dann was a midnight "skater"?

That's the image I always have when I hear the term skater, the whole scene and Wolowitz's outfit cracked me up when I saw it.

Green, I can either avoid dodgy places (and i shouldnt have to) or i do what I want knowing there are risks. If the risks are people (of course, they are) then why shouldn't I be able to defend myself from them?

In Australia you can have guns, it’s perfectly legal to do so if you have the required licence, and correct storage of the firearm.

Also, imaging having to protect yourself from a deranged person who takes it upon themselves to trespass onto your propert and threaten harm to you or your family,
Almost unheard of in Australia...... or is it.

Also, in regards to having a firearm to defend yourself,
If someone needs to defend themselves
There is also someone trying to harm someone, it’s a lot easier to run from someone with a knife
Than it is to run from a bullet. Because last time I checked this isn’t a marvel or dc universe.

Also a lot more time consuming to kill people with a knife than it is to kill With a firearm.
