Should injectors be 'loose' in the head?

Good evening all,

While changing out my plugs and leads this evening I noticed that there was a repair on the wiring to injector 1 ??? and when I moved the cable the injector moved/pivoted in place. is this normal?

I note that all the injectors are able to be rotated very easily by hand, there does not appear to be any motion other than the rotation which is very easily achieved.

Not having experience with fuel injection, other that diesel where they are firmly pressed or bolted into the head I am unsure if this is normal as my only other vehicle is a Nissan patrol with a carby (which I understand).

In my NA6 they were rotatable with new seals.but it took a tiny little effort. In my NB8A motor... .cant move them at all. The fuel rail seems much tighter.

I might order a seal kit for the injectors then. Sigh. Always something....

Anyone going on the Mazdas in the Mist run this saturday? If so I should see you there....I'll be in the red NA :-D

Replacing the seals in an old car is always a good idea. Cause i know my injector seals were perhaps 27 years old when they were replaced. But thats opening a can of worms....i also replaced my injectors....started porting & shaving heads....then cams arrived.... found a set of springs and then got an ECU.....but not neccecarily in that order :lol:

Replacing injector seal? Save youurself some trouble....juzt go turbo

There is 3 bolts on the fuel rail. Try tightening them if you know what you are going.

I've just finished a head change(nearly said head job), I noticed mine were loose too. I did replace the o rings on the inlet, but nothing seemed to be leaking and there should be a negative pressure when they squirted so I left them alone , I see no evidence of leaks.
