AD08R in the wet

So have had these on my NA6 for two years but today was the first real wet day I have dríven on them. Have to say they were very tricky. Yes we haven't had proper rain in Sydney for a while so the roads were probably extra greasy, but gee they lost traction easily. Any one had similar experience?

Probably greasy road. While wet they wont be as good as dry. They shouldn't just fall off performance wise like your experience.

I found that it doesn't take too many track days to heat cycle them out. They aren't much good when there's a blue tinge to them.

That's interesting Jon. They do have the blue tinge on the shoulders and I did mistakenly run them at 40psi hot last year.

I liked the AD08Rs and the NSW club accepted them as a road tyre for the clubman class. They aren't cheap, but there aren't a lot of performance tyres in 205/45/16s that 'fit' the class rules. The trouble I had was that after 7 or 8 track days they started to loose their grip. When they started to loose grip I spotted a noticeable blue tinge on the shoulders. I've been told the blue tinge comes with too many heat cycles and the compound has gone off. When they started going blue I was sliding all over the place on the track and they weren't up to 'sporty' road driving. I lost all confidence in them, especially on a wet country road. Even though they had heaps of tread left, they ended up on the tip. It sounds like your having the same problem Phil.

I have these and find in the wet you have to be cautious. Not as bad as Michelin Sport 3 I had on my other rims.
