For what its worth
The 300mm rotors are from a Renault Grand Scenic
The Calipers Subaru 4 pot WRX.
So, by the time you buy
Rotors
Caliper mounting brackets
Calipers
Pads
Brake hoses, the MX5 one are too short
You will have spent around $900
Cheers
Steven

I thought I had posted a followup to my earlier post ... :?

Long story short, it might be cheap (?) but it is not light, an important consideration for me. I am not interested in pursuing this option, but if I were my next question would be about comparative wheel cylinder volumes and implications for m/c sizing.

I have just ordered Carbotech pads for the SE, so I will see how they stand up to heavy use before investigating alternatives.

I never met a horsepower I didn't like (thanks bwob)

I also think this combo isn't matched correctly. The caliper came off a car with 277 dia rotors. Bumping that up to 300mm is a far wack and look like a lot of pad doesn't make contact.

It be nice to see this setup with NB 270mm rotors.
