Lachlan, do you think they sell them in reverse to sell more MS mounts?

No, I don't think so, I don't think think Emilio is out to deceive anyone in the community though.
I'm not sure their reasoning behind it to be honest, though I do recall you asking him once in one of the forums - I can't remember his response but he he as confident in his logic.
What's more, I'm not sure why they don't offer it both ways, as they have pairs of AWR Poly mounts on the shelf, which they must split up for each Hybrid package they sell.
I won't know the state of mine until the inevitable engine build though. Those bastards are a pain to get at, I recall you had a hell of a time installing mine

Do you remember which forum? I am also interested in the answer.

Re: Blackbird Fabworx Engine Mounts
I did a quick google and didn't find it.
Im not a big fan of taking what the seller says at face value. (that applies to me, from your perspective also).

Re: Blackbird Fabworx Engine Mounts
Maybe it wasn't Dann who questioned it, or maybe I just couldn't find it. I seem to recall a response from Emilio on the subject, but this was the closest I could find to the exchange I remember:
https://www.miataturbo.net/engine-performance-56/hybrid-engine-mounts-87235/
Basically, they said that they put the poly mount where they most often found a ripped mount.

Re: Blackbird Fabworx Engine Mounts
First post on the Aussie forums, hi everyone!
Thanks for pointing me to this thread, Mark.
I wouldn't typically introduce myself talking about parts we make but since you guys are discussing parts we make...
As said, we have the mounts in a number of versions so everyone can find the setup that fits their needs.
Competition mounts are made for dedicated track cars and street cars belonging to guys that don't have a GF / wife and not planning on meeting one any time soon.
The Competition setup will keep your shifter where you left it at the last gear change
NVH levels are A-okay for a race car (because who cares?) but pretty harsh for a street dríven vehicle.
Street Performance mounts use a larger bushing for much reduced NVH levels, your GF / wife might not love them but after the initial ~500-1000 Km the bushing material breaks in and they become friendlier for street users.
The mounts come as a pair, beautifully finished in Gunmetal Gray powder coating, ready to drop in.
Both Competition and Street Performance mounts are available in standard height or as a drop mount that lowers the engine by ~12mm.
Drop mounts are not recommended for cars that run exceedingly low ride height (i.e. slammed, you know who you are..), but for any car that isn't limited by ride height, class rules or parts that limit the amount that the engine can be dropped (such as a low hanging turbo down pipe).
You're looking at lowering the single heaviest component of the car in the chassis, and lowering the Cg isn't just some theoretical thing, the difference can be felt in steering response.
Given that there are roughly a million part combos available for Miatas we couldn't possibly check each and every one of them for fitment with the drop mounts, but I can confirm that the mounts work on any 1.8L OEM setup between 94-00 and 01-05 as well as with the all-popular headers from Racing Beat and the TSE turbo kit (confirmed by Andrew from TSE).
If there are any questions, I'll be happy to answer them.
Cheers!

Great to have a manufacturer contribute and clarify information. Thank you.
The street performance drop mounts sound interesting.

LOL!
This recommendation may actually save some guys from having to sell their car because their partner no longer approves!

Just calling it like it is..
The Street Performance drop mounts are easily our best seller in the line up!

Happy to see you on the forum Moti. Will do measurements on the weekend to see if drop mounts will fit. My partner will never hop in the car with me anyway so no risk there

Happy to be here!
Still working on reading and typing posts upside down, but I'm sure I'll get used to it at some point
