A question was put to me recently RE the intercooler details, as I had lost all notes, to look back into required touching base with PWR. The Problem Child’s PWR intercooler is an Areo2 (model PWI 5429 UD) core is 600mm x 196mm x68mm with 2.5 inch bottom outlets.
On install, it didn’t fit past the rails, so mechanic Daz had to modify to fit it by doing a chamfer at both the top corners to get in past the rails, then engineer Ben re-welded the reshaped corners back up. The condenser was repositioned before remount, and we had to angle the radiator a few degrees back at the base.

RE intercooler install, said chamfer work.....

Service sorted. Some fresh oil, an oil filter change and some new spark plugs. Changing the plugs though isn’t completely straightforward when running motorbike coils, some modification required, via an angry Lathe that ate a $21 spark plug lunch on me!

The iron man PPF brace is still holding rock sold.

Latest (and long overdue addition), I finally got my hands on the famous Beavis Motorsport short shifter.
The install was a breeze, as quick and easy as shown on Brendan’s YouTube vid.
It feels great- sits rock solid in place and snaps into gear like a bear trap. Such a notable difference in the speed of the shift changes. :BROADY:
Now all I need is a quality weighted gear nob..... any suggestions?

Voodoo FTW.

Black, round, sits low on the shaft, and mine has no shift pattern - very clean appearance.

Voodoo is too light, IMO. I have one with a shift pattern, which no longer lines up properly, you're welcome to borrow it if you want to see how it feels.

I really like my Moddiction knob, same shape as the Voodoo, but much heavier. No shift pattern, but that's fine I know where the gears are.

I'm a Voodoo "fanboi", even have one in my SP23.

If your shifter is angled, the spherical shape of the Voodoo knob is better than other shapes since it still feels right (ie. there's no bits that jut out and dig into your palm when shifting due to the modified angle of the gearstick shaft).

I suspect ManiacLachy had tried a heavier knob before the Voodoo knob and preferred it.

The Voodoo knob is heavier than OEM and I haven't tried a heavier knob so I think the Voodoo knob is perfect (ie. maybe I just don't know any better).

The Voodoo knob was designed for MX5s so that's another selling point.

When parked in the sun they get bloody hot so use protection - in your case, I recommend this:

I put a Skunk2 Gear Knob on my short shifter. Nicely weighted and has a red shift pattern etched into it. Feels really good in the hand.
Made the stiffer short shifter feel easier to change. Made it easier to get into reverse too, something the wife always struggled with.
Highly recommend though it can get blistering hot in summer!

I have one of these on the shelf too (Lokiel was right, I did have a heavy knob before the Voodoo).

Daffy, you're welcome to give this one a go too (though mine is made by Blox, I don't think the Skunk2 branded version is around anymore). I didn't love the way this one fell to hand, but the weight is nice.
