- Full fluid service
- Ecliptech shift P2 – very neatly installed & no wires showing
- Aggressive wheel alignment (higher negative camber for F + R)
- car has been corner weighted, total weight of 1099kg's including 80kg driver (in future i may decide to strip interior/air con etc.)
- New carbotech xp10 pads
- New custom braided lines, the previous which were a second set replacement, were still rubbing at full lock, so the issue has finally been sorted with a new fixed design that stays clear of the wheel
- Oil filter relocation kit – the filter is larger/flows more, again cleanly installed, utilizing factory holes (no drilling)
This was all in preparation for a 11 Oct WP day.. fun was had as usual. The car felt much more confident turning in at speed – so I think the wheel alignment attributed to that. Braking was solid as with the new pads, I drove it pretty hard (so I think I did), achieved a new PB of 115:34. I am still struggling to get through to the 114’s & im either not driving hard enough?! Or I have reached/am reaching the limits of the current set up of the car – I personally think it’s the latter.. as my lap times are getting consistent, feedback from professional instructors is that i am steering it really well.. correct lines & braking points etc.. although im pushing it, i do make slight mistakes, i guess this is part of the learning curve.
Anywho, the car feels good & still enjoying it plenty.. the only thing that’s in the back of my mind is more power/straight line speed. What can you guys recommend with respect to things like cams + ECU, is the power gain justifiable? during this day it was quite warm but i was still able to thrash it non stop, i probably got the most laps in. so for me reliability/seat time is key. Some pics & footage as per usual..
Here is the new filter location, nice & stealthy:
the new braided lines design:
The TURD.. such a nugget, but still provides good thrills;
This was my quickest lap & new PB – bonus footage at the end, hope you enjoy!
until next time, keep it real.
