Postby shirtz » Thu Jan 18, 2018 1:29 pm

my na is stock height with a lip and I already cant get a jack under it. its only going to get worse when I get coilovers! ive seen Bevis do quick release pins on his NB, but has anyone done it on their NA?

People buy a low profile jack.
Fitting quick releases seem a bit dangerous. You don't want your bumper falling off as you drive along, or even if you have a small nudge.

What Bruce said, they also look awful and require you to drill holes in your bumper and wings. Even with the quick releases it will still be a pain to undo all the other bolts every single time you need to raise the car.

Buy a Costco Arcane (?) low profile jack, and get some wooden ramps if you need that little bit of extra clearance.

I'm lowered a little, but even with a low profile jack I have I can't get to the front jacking point with the car on it's wheels. I use a crappy Supercheap jack on the pinch weld to raise one corner off the ground, then using my low profile jack I can get under the front. The extra step doesn't add much time.

haha now im curious!

but yeah, the raise one side method or get wood ramps seems to be the best thus far.

My ramps thread? I do have some wooden ramps, but I don't think I've discussed them. Even using them to get the car up slightly I still need to jack from the side, the low profile jack's "hump" is too big to fit under the lip and I can't see what what I'm doing anyway. Maybe I need to add some extra height to my ramps.
