You're adding to your skill set. You will fix any stuff ups the only thing lost will be time but the trade off is you've gained even more skills. Keep up the good work :)

Yeah I’ve always believed that if you don’t know, learn. Except for electrics. They scare me.

WOW! I bow with respect to your attention to detail and I look forward to seeing it in the flesh when finished.

This is the #1 rule when painting anything, time spent preparing the surface is always well spent.

If you do a half-arsed job with preparation the final result will always look crap.

So are you going to rename the car?

My vote would be "Sexual Chocolate!"

LOL - would love to see it on a bumper/window sticker though; at least create a meme photo of the car using it as the title.
eg.

Was going to mention could tone it down to be maybe more acceptable to the wife to "Hot Chocolate" (yeah have to admit to a 70's disco / satin shirt tragic here :? ) ... however couldn't get the image out of my head of the S**t from passers by as one sits stranded on the side of the road with a steaming radiator ....

Well “Randy” is now all the one colour for the first time in 18 months.

It wasn’t a total success though. All the time & effort put into fixing the hail damage on my bootlid was wasted. Once I had clear on it, they stood out like tits on a bull. ☹️ It looks like I’ll have to get some of that easy sand body filler that Speed told me about. I’ll coat the entire bootlid & block it back. Which means I need more paint, which brings me to the next problem. I’ve also got to respray the drivers side door since I fixed a minor blemish with the last dregs of paint & the colour was a bit off, so I need more paint anyway.

But on the bright side, here’s some pics of Randy’s rear-end & other bits.
