Engineering in QLD - what is the process?

Engineering in QLD - what is the process?
I may well be moving to the sunshine state early next year.
My turbo NA6 will be coming with me and I'm wondering what's involved re rego and engineering these days?
Is it just a case of paying for someone to mod plate it or is it more strict than that?
I find it silly that each state has separate rules, otherwise I would have just had it done in Sydney and transfer the rego but I'm not about to pay twice for the process.
Existing mods are:
Turbo, intercooler, 2.5 inch high flow cat.
NB8B front sport's brakes.
Possibly brown davis roll bar & sparco sprint v.

Call up someone authroised to do it, take the car to them, or they come to see the car. They check it out, give you a blue plate if they're happy with it.

there was only recently the same question raised except a member moving from QLD to Vic. The authorities it appears do recognise other State mod plates but in any event make enquiries at the roads department in the new State.

Sounds like it will be easier and cheaper in QLD. All previous enquiries that I'd made said no transfer of engineering.

Very worst case, show your papers to a local engineer (pay him for a consult not to do the report) And have him suggest what he would need to do the new papers. He will charge is minimum fee normally and copy it all over with a quick visual inspection of the car.
His minimum fee is probably 800 dollars or so. I say pay to see him for ONLY a consult first for the same reason i would for a pinkslip on a modified car. If the guy you see says to change 2000 bucks worth of stuff or whatever you can move on. Same with a pinkslip. if the first guy marks you down as illegal you WILL have to fix his (real or made up) issues first no matter what. If the guy is going to make it hard for you, you can just move on to another more reasonable inspector, but if he starts the pinkslip process he will give the RMS/RTA/whatever warning that your car has things he doesnt like and by then it will be too late.

When I had my NA Supercharged I went to the engineer, he lifted the bonnet and attached the mod plate,$123 thank you, he was not interested

I had a couple of modplates in qld and this is my understanding of them:
There are are 2 levels of mod plates in qld. Well 2 types of people who can do them. There is the standard mechanic qualified modplater and then there is the engineer qualified engineer certificate modplater. You get each mod certified in qld, not the total car (like i beleive nsw is).
The simpler mods is what the standard mod plater can certify. The more hairy ones is what you need the engineer for.they charge different costs.
Ive never heard of an $800 engineer cert in qld like dan said - though thats common in nsw. but it may add up to that if you have several things that need doing
When you get them done make sure you go to TMR and have them put on the system. It will save you lots of headaches in the future.

QLD is much easier, cheaper and more relaxed than NSW in every respect to do with cars
