Unless youre balls deep in 1.6 specific upgrades do yourself a favour and start with a bp4w.

Going bigger is not always the right answer. If you want to compete in the car in mutli-club events then there are good arguments for staying at 1600.

If you look at CAMS classes for many of their state and national level comps across various motorsport disciplines then you see that they often go 0-1600cc, 1601-2000cc, 2001-3000cc, 3001+

An NA6 is a really competitive package in the sub-1600 classes. In the 2000 class you get absolutely monstered by Hondas and Lotus Elises running Honda's 2000 motor. If you turbo a 1600 then it's still below 3000cc after applying the modification factor and you could be a frontrunner. A turbo 1800 is over 3000cc and then you're up against 3000+ Porsches and all sorts of horribly faster cars, and in some comps against full-sized V8s. Basically you have the opportunity to duel with the class leaders with a 1600 or to bring up the rear in an 1800.

If it's just a street car then, yeah, get an 1800 BP4W.
