Many people mistakenly think all dot 5.1 brake fluids are better than dot 4, when a lot of dot 4's have higher boiling points than dot 5.1's.
Also they both absorb moisture at a similar rate, but dot 5.1 have the advantage of a lower viscosity.
Have a look on the Penrite bottles: Super dot 4 boiling point is 525 deg F, whereas Dot 5.1 is 515 deg F.

My mistake. I thought Motul RBF600 and 660 was DOT 5.1. They're actually described as Super DOT 4. RBF600 with 315C dry boiling point or RBF660 with 325C dry boiling point.

I've been looking around and have a silly question to ask, how come most if not all the NC2 are hard top version?

Mazda Australia stopped offering soft-tops in around 2010 due to lack of buyer demand ... about a year after the NC2 was released. There are definitely some soft-top NC2s out there, but they're quite rare. Here are a few listings:

Re: NC as a daily with occasional track duties
It may not have been lack of demand but possibly Mazda decided to rationalise the choice and only offer the one option i.e. folding hard top and presumably it was more expensive and maybe a better margin for Mazda- just a guess.

I can vouch that NC2 soft tops or "Touring" are very thin on the ground. I bought mine last year, and an absolute gem it is, but was looking for a long time

NC2 soft tops definitely rare
I can confirm I have a 2011 plate NC2 soft top so that might have been the last year

Re: NC as a daily with occasional track duties
Ok so you bought a nice 'mint and unmolested' NC and changed the brake pads.
Any other changes? Started 'track duties'?
I bought a very nice NB8a just after xmas with the same in mind.
I started track duties in April and was very happy with the' stocker' but got the 'bug'.
I bought some second hand R-specs but didn't get to use them.
Instead i bought a track oriented registered NC for track duties and occasional daily drive (mrs bought a Commodore).
I did Supersprints Saturday and Sunday and doing a track day today. This car is awesome.

Penrite racing brake fluid
Hawk HP+ pads
Yokohama AD08R
Went to Sandown on Saturday 13th Apr, car was good on the track, suspension a little bit soft for my liking.
