Re: The Roadster NA Journey Begins
Well done!!
It was good to have a brief chat on Sunday, thanks for driving by! I hope you all had a good trip back (are having?).
Next year's calendar is still being worked out, maybe there will be back-to-back events like this year, and we can see you in a Supersprint round

We have made it home safe and sound. If I knew the event was on I would have stayed to just 'unwind'greenMachine wrote:... and we can see you in a Supersprint round
My PB lap. I think I can do a 1:50 next year...

We're talking about the colour scheme right?

No I think he is referring to the exhaust note. It had it’s none Lakeside friendly exhaust on. I have no idea how loud it is as I wear earplugs when driving it.

Re: The Roadster NA Journey Begins
Congrats on your results at the WTAC event Mark, great to see you chipping away at it. Really like your approach to it all, plenty of seat time, data acquisition and then slowly developing the car based on both of these.
Hoping to get my SE sorted to run the QLD Time Attack Series next year.

Yep. It wasn't the loudest car at WTAC (that would have been the NZ 20B FD), but it was up there for sure.

My best lap. Some 30 seconds slower than Hammerhead...
Have added more data so that members can actually tell when I lift off or brake.

Some WTAC photos
Despite what I thought, when looking at 2015, 2016 and 2017 I did not gain much improvement through T1/2/3. My biggest area of improvement was from Corportae Hill to the main straight.

Any more photos? Interest to watch the egts in the video. What's the safe limit on your engine? Assuming it has inconel valves etc.

It has SR20 race valves and springs, soft cut is at 8,200. It has been pushed beyond this on the dyno and we do know when the third harmonic is...cookie wrote: Interest to watch the egts in the video. What's the safe limit on your engine? Assuming it has inconel valves etc.
I can send you the data files if you want to download the Datalink software.
This is from the PB session. The graph has average EGT with speed for reference.

This is the difference from average for each EGT. You will probably comment that fuel for EGT1 and EGT2 could be adjusted to bring all the EGT's into alignment.

This is when it was on 98 (Innovate software) also a different track and a few years ago. But at 164 kmh the temp was 733°c. At SMSP at the same speed on E85 the value was 658°c

Re: The Roadster NA Journey Begins
Interesting! E85 is definitely our friend on track for keeping temp in check, probably helps extend engine life too. I think 8000 is where I'll start once the 'stage 2' parts are installed. I'm still waiting for your supercharger install pics

When I get the time, I really like studying your data, not enough guys are generating this sort of useful information for their own benefit - yet!
Also lovin' the body work:
(I'm a "curves guy" which is why I prefer the NB's "rear hips" vs the NA's "narrow hips")
