hello,
i have noticed this intermittent squeak when disengaging the clutch ie; pressing on the clutch pedal at the end of the travel
it seems to be coming from the lower clutch controller though spraying INOX on it makes it go away but not for long...
i have a bad and short video below if interested...
https://vimeo.com/238243904
should i just ignore or is it the start of something more problematic
the clutch fluid reservoir level is all good
thanks guys

Re: NB8B lower clutch controller squeak?
To do a proper job, undo the two bolts holding the slave cylinder onto the gearbox, grease the end of the pushrod where it operates on the clutch throwout lever and re-assemble. I use a white lithium based grease, should last a bit longer than INOX.
Not really a problem, just annoying.

Re: NB8B lower clutch controller squeak?
Thanks for the tip
Yea I put inox as I always thought it did not damage rubber seals as everyone would say... Oh yea it's a squeak just put some wd40 on it
If I can get a hold of a proper jack I'll go at it with grease next weekend

Given above, might be the thrust or spigot/pilot bearings just starting to go - noise will eventually get worse if this.

can this be heard if the engine is NOT running?

Re: NB8B lower clutch controller squeak?
No. The thrust bearing only squeals when it's pushed against the clutch on a turning engine. The clutch doesn't have to be fully disengaged for the thrust bearing to squeal, just a slight depression of the clutch pedal is usually enough to cause it. On the other hand the spigot bearing only squeals or grinds when the clutch is fully disengaged and the engine is turning.aviper4u wrote:might be the thrust or spigot/pilot bearings just starting to go

So it follows that if the engine is switched off and there's still a noise from the clutch then it's in the linkage somewhere, not the thrust or spigot bearings.

Agree - in linkage/mechanism somewhere, but not the bearings if present when engine not running.
