Oil temp gauge

Postby redchicken » Sat Oct 14, 2017 7:48 pm

Hi guys went on 2Hr drive today and noticed the oil temperature gauge rising it normally sits pretty high but noticed it crepping up toward the 3/4 mark.I was sitting on 100-110 in fith gear.Im just wondering if this is normal. My car is a stock 2000 5 speed NB. Any feedback would be welcomed. Thanks Michael.

It's oil pressure and on an NB its not supposed to move once the car has started.

I'd say no problem. You sure it was creeping up, because that's unusual.
The gauge doesn't show the actual pressure, just indicates that you have at least the minimum pressure required.
An oil light would be more useful !

The stock gauge is useless, just a switch ... it's either ok or engine detonation. Swap it out for a real sensor and gauge.
