Here is a video of the car with the Dogbox and rebuilt head. I was running it in at this event so the rev limiter was set low to 8300rpm. Still managed a flat 50second lap of Collie which is pretty rapid... I'm back down there in a couple of weeks if I can get my car together in time, but I need new tyres now so I doubt I'll be setting quicker times.

I can now understand why it's so hard to get right at least.

it would be beyond most mechanics. I was told when the DSG has trouble.....they take the whole gearbox, send it to a specialized gearbox place. They replace all the acutators. Not juts 1 broken one ,because its too complicated to figure out which one may be broken or not functioning correctly. Srend the gearbox back ready to go into the next warranty job.

and you're just mucking about.....   8)

I'm interested in your brake setup.

What wheel designs/sizes/offsets had you tried and what fits/doesn't fit. I can see the wheels clearly in the photos in the first couple of pages of this thread, but I don't know what they are and the dimensions. I'm currently designing a brake package for my own car and I'm trying to make it not rule out too many wheels in 15x8 or 15x7.

Hydraulics: Did you ever get round to changing the pedal ratio or is it still at the standard 4:1? Do you know what the piston sizes are in the front callipers?

I've only tests the 949 Racing 10" and Kosei K1s

The front calipers are very tight on even the biggest 15" rims. The rear calipers with my offset bracket have a bit more room.

I'm still running the stock pedal ratio. Actually I've gotten so used to it now I don't think I'll change it.

Here is the latest video of my car. This was a tough event down at Busselton on a very tight and dangerous street course. I haven't dríven the car in 6 months so it was good to get back in it for a short blast. The rev limiter is set to 9000 and I was bouncing off it far too much but my gearing just didn't work on this track.

Yup... one small mistake and it could end in disaster. As a driver I find it a lot more thrilling than running at either of my local tracks both of which I could almost drive blindfolded. It's almost like driving to work even with small mistakes.

After a run at this event my hands were trembling a little... it's good to get a bit of an adrenaline hit.

My only issue with the car at the moment is shifting from 2nd to 3rd. It's still really easy to miss the gear when I'm pushing fast.

^^ This is exactly why I enjoy the hillclimbs and street sprints. An absolute buzz

What's the story behind the whacky rear view mirror?

Less distraction, reflections ? There's no other cars on the field so you don't need it.

I do that for the gopro so it doesn't block the view. Plus on this run I was the last car of the group. I was also one of the faster cars so I didn't have to worry about someone catching me unless I stuffed up.

You should hear it in the car. I drove the sighting lap with no helmet on and it was so loud. Especially with the sound bouncing off the barriers. Everyone comments on the car asking if its a rotary or a v8 or something.
