me too if I had plans to re-paint my fiat

but this car of mine has a lot of paint on it but I think I really have no choice but to prepare it right and I think the rub back to the white is the right move
say if I did paint straight over the red and later I chipped it i'd have red blobs coming out on my white paint job. then the next question who was the back yarder who painted that?
so by rights I really should go back to the silver but seeing it looks like I will go white they should save it
now as for dry rubbing I really don't like it. ive probably rubbed back 10 or more. it works and works well but the frigg'in dust - in your hair/ears/eyes clothes into the house and so on.

sh*t I got into some arguments with that

and the body filler etc etc
so with the wet rubs its just water and sandpaper and really not much else to worry about
back in the early '90 the first car I ever had a go at restoring was a 67 hr holden ute. a panel beater lived across the road and said I will hire you my best apprentice to work on it. after knocking out all the dents and filling it - the key filler used was the classic gold in 4kg tubs - 20 kgs of the stuff went on that hr
you can imagine how much dust was about after the speed file and sander and block sander etc etc did their job and it went on like that for the next 5 years

followed on by a 66 mustang and a datusun fairlady 2000 -the datsuns worth a bit now too
