   yes! but I need more practice. not so much today as my arms are aching after yesterdays rub down and not being use to hard work

meanwhile I went up to the aviaries and asked for volunteers - for what chirped the replies.

3 or 4 of you will be sacrificed shortly for a good cause.....paint and assorted prep material for the re=spray on the car.

stuff you and your car came the reply. nothing wrong with it in the first place. why must we pay the price for your stupidity

well I said. mainly because you guys have a pretty good $$$ value on your heads and I guess I will take advantage of that. so think it over and I would prefer volunteers but if not I will catch at random

i'll be back!

followed on by...get stuffed! but I will be back.

so up they went for sale yesterday and it didn't take long and overnight closed at $3,000 in bird sales and i pulled the ad. that's enough to paint the car and buy a couple of items for the new bike. checked the bank a/c and half the cash is in today and the balance on pickup

so I went out to the airport to get some freight costs to Victoria and qld. they don't mind paying for birds but will argue if they think they are being overcharged for freight by $10 or $15

at the counter with the wife. no-ne there so I told her to ring the number for attendance as I don't or very rarely use a mobile  guy comes out weighs the boxes and the wife said to me don't forget your wallet

on the counter blocked from view from the other side -almost same wallet as mine. picked it up then felt my pocket...mine was there. so opened the wallet up and it was loaded with assorted credit cards and such including a drivers license plus $270 in cash

anyway its never good to lose a wallet anytime and worse still to get it knocked off - so I gave it all back to the guy behind the counter - yes including the $270  I can earn that or more an hour when I work anyway but if I had opened it up and there was say $5000 in it - it may have been different ending

but thankfully I was $4730 off that target and all ended good  who knows the guy behind the counter might have pocketed the $270 himself but on the day I didn't need the money that bad

working my way across the panels I am still have trouble cutting through the paint with the 120 wet rub. at the moment I am hitting each panel that way there is no way I can just re-paint one side again as I still have spare red paint and I will have no choice but do the complete spray

I might go back to the paint shop and get a few sheets of 80 wet rub paper and give that a try on cutting the clear coat. then follow over with the 120

so back on the car with the 80 grit wet rub paper. this worked a bit better on the job and cut into the clear coat . photo of the sandpaper and you can see the grit has serious bite to it

in the last photo you can see the grit did scratch its way in sections through the paint. now you see a 3 step area I worked on from scratch using the 80 then over to the 120

I'm starting to tremble at the thought of doing the fiddle bits, & I'm only watching.

+1, Sunburst Yellow (original 1992 MX5 yellow) - and definitely NOT one of those "orange yellows"

- my 2nd choice now would be Lava Orange - would look awesome in your "autumn leaves" photo

I am still voting for Laguna Blue.

OItherwise, back to the white, but this time add a little pearl/metallic to it!
