Re: The case against grip...
I firmly belong to the grip lust school.
drifting is not my thing.
although both have its benefits
definition of fun is kind of.....well pretty broad.
one of the more fun cars i ever drove was the Morris 1100S. doing 4 wheel drifts around Tanja park in yje 80s prolly on 155 size tyres. and hydrolic suspension
The Most fun car was a bug eye sprite. Built for the Tasman Targa. The drama was so intense. 67 Rwkw. That's huge for the 948 motor....the noise. the lumpy cams. OMG!!!!!!
so really. if you belong to one or another school. i give no fucks. we can still froth and dribble about each in appreciation.. ..
he does go on controlled drifting around corners. and with loose tyres you get a heap of warning before you do loose grip.
while if you went into one of those serious grip but not quite semi slick type where you have almost insane amounts if grip. they don't give you much warning. bunk of an eyelid and youve missed the warning.. ..
game over. Bonus level not achieved. do not go past go. and do not collect $200. directly to heaven.
while I do appreciate the old school drifting(as discussed in the article) i do prefer grip, drama also has to be part of it. HP is optional.
