Hi all. I have tried to search for this topic but without success. My current clutch/flywheel combo (ACT) failed today. It doesn't seem broken, more just unable to hold my engine torque when things got really tough (semi slicks, smooth grippy bitumen racetrack, going up steepish hill in fourth gear). On the flat it will just accelerate rather than slip, even loaded in 5th and 6th gear. I am a bit hard on the clutch at takeoff in particular when I pretty much just let it out at 4500rpm and let the launch control do its thing. OK I do modulate just a little, but it is a bit savage all the same. I don't ever clutch 'dip' or 'fan'. I am hoping someone with one of the more powerful setups can recommend a clutch they have had success with? Equally, warning me off stuff you have tried which has not worked would be great too.
Thanks for any help or comment you may provide.

Re: Clutch recommendations for turbo NA8?
Hi mate, I had same problem when I first build my car. I went thru a couple clutch kits, exedy, one from the uk that says it will take 350hp both couldn't take it. I got direct clutches in Brisbane to make me one. Told them how much power I had, what torque and how I drive it. Turned up and 2.5 years later not a hint of slipping. Good bunch of blokes give them a call. Much better quality than your off the shelf options

Hi Dann,
I do have a dyno sheet from when the car was tuned, but now I run different boost curves per gear and in fourth gear and above I stop limiting mid range boost as it will actually get traction. At my ecu measured 14 pounds car made peak 210RWKW, but boost was limited to about 10 pounds until 4500rpm then run up to 14 pounds at 6000rpm. In fourth gear and above I now let boost go to 18-19 pounds. I am sure there are some tried and true options for clutches at this moderate sort of power level. Thoughts appreciated.

Hi Mate. This is great advice. I will contact Direct Clutches on your recommendation. Sounds like they know what they are doing.
Cheers
