probably would have if I had let her drive it about in sydney  or would have at least had the roof slashed by now. instead the wife and I gave her a Suzuki swift to drive around instead.
wife was out in the mgf today. still goes alright 8 years down the track and the paint looks fine too  fluid suspension leaves a lot to be desired. I do give it the odd pump up ...and the suspension too

one day I might add the better coil suspension to it. probably just in time for her to claim it back

Looks quite lovely in cacky yellow. There is some sort of easy fix for the K series motors so they don't overheat. Was probably not too bad a motor (once fixed) as the S1 Elise used it.

I think the fiat abarth 595 is running out of time in my allotted garage space  I have not dríven it for a good 4 weeks and in all honesty I think I'd prefer to drive the SE anyway  the abarth is a pretty quick car. now if that open limit in the territory was still open i'd probably like to see if it would do its top speed of 225 kph. but that's not gonna happen.

I decided not to give it the birdsville track run either. I am pretty sure that trip would just belt the crap out of a new car and lose thousands of $$$$ and if something went wrong FIAT may not be too generous with a warranty claim. plus ground clearance is against me too.

anyway to cut a long story short - that girly fiat abarth has been handed over to the eldest daughter who likes it and she can do what she wants with it  she has liked the look of it since she drove it home from the dealer in Sydney.

now it just goes to show you-it doesn't matter what you buy - lotus/abarth it's very hard to beat a good SE - especially if it runs 300HP  now both the above cars are gone but old faithful never looked like moving an inch

besides we the SE and I still have unfinished business . sunlight silver - artic white - helrot to be continued - artic white

today's laugh!

lately I've been thinking or was up until today  I had the garage space empty and I thought choice of two and it's either another motorcycle or a car. so I rang the dealer and the motorcycle I want is still not available till the end of the year. actually hasn't been released yet! rear disc abs version.
I thought maybe a stock standard SE as I do like the SE's and wouldn't mind a second like a titanium grey one. plus I should have a bit of an idea on condition and what a good one is....... I already own one
well that idea didn't last too long  daughter arrived home and told the wife although she likes 'the bubble car' its not her style and bought it back  she said she preferred to drive her Honda euro instead!
well i'll be stuffed. I thought. didn't really have much to say and that rarely happens at my household
but the wife is happy again as she really likes the car with the pushed in face. after-all twice at the petrol bowser she has had one guy come over to discuss the car and the other time - the guy grabbed the pump to fill the tank while he asked questions about it.
plus it couldn't be a hot to trot thing either as she is 52 NOT 32 and the bowser boys had their wives with them. anyway even I had one old guy come over and ask me about it. now I am almost 65 and sh*t he looked old.......i'd say close on 70

back to the car incident.....the filthy fiat. daughter was a bit concerned i'd be upset that she gave it back. not really I was thinking later ... I lost those $$$ quick but the table turned and I think she had a golden opportunity and let it go down the gurgler.
anyway its back in the frigg'in garage and unlike the lotus which I manage to buy and sell and come out even I think the fiat could be hard to sell and if I did i'd drop a ship load of cash.
best idea I came up with today is maybe hunt down a sports exhaust system and see if that adds value to the entertainment of driving. there are really no negatives with the car except for some reason out on the open road every-one want to friggin pass you
funny thing is - I think I could beat most of them too and the ones I can't I have the reserve  now here's a video of one with the exhaust I am thinking about. it's not so much a new exhaust - its a rear muffler delete with single or duel pipes in place.

some may even wish to comment on the sound effects. I was thinking of the quad record monza but $2500 plus fitting - stuff that. plus I am only talking a muffler with quad pipes too. I think I could get this same sound effect for $350 with duel outlet or cheaper on a single job.

speed - to go that extra 1000 revs to the limiter would require some-one with more guts than me  could easily be done but not with me in it!

daffy
yep! I checked mine out today. exact colour and model as the top car in the photo with the same bloody turbo  next time I go to Newcastle I will get nitro dann to connect it up correctly.......it appears to have a fitment issue
