I have decided to cap this event at 43 entries: 2x 8-car training groups plus 3x 9-car ordinary groups.
There are currently FIVE places remaining. All training spots are gone and I have two ppl on the waiting list.

OK. So I have closed off on-line registrations. If you want to be a late registration, please contact me directly by PM or email compsec@mx5clubqld.com.au
I have 38 starters. Training groups are full but there are up to 5 places left in the regular groups, following a few withdrawals.
The weather forecast is looking good, so with a bit of luck it'll be dry all day. The 86 Club ran last weekend on a wet track. There were a few unplanned excursions on to the grass

Thanks, Minx! Nice times by the way! I'll find your off soon...
What did surprise me is how well I lined up the next corner, however taking up the whole width of the track was not 'cricket'.

Many thanks to Adam, Trent, and the Marshalls for super-slick organisation. Big thanks to best mate Leon for allowing his pride and joy Audi to be steered by this loose nut! Best time of 1:05.0.
The RSTT Did approx 250race track kms, roughly 107 laps each, and never missed a beat. We reckon the cost roughed out to under $4.50 per lap! Crazy value, awesome fun, top track.

... correction, 107 laps was the total for the car, so approx 53 each - still unbelievable value ! Downhill mountain bike shuttles cost more per lap

Interesting to compare the Audi speeds to mine on a 1.05 lap
I also found an article with some times in V8 Supe Drive day cars.

Re: 18/06/17 Norwell Park Training and Track Day (TD4)
Great full day. I had a great escape in the first session after lunch when, after being released by the Boxster in our group I arrived at the same spot Magpie spun (at the end of the back 'straight') and I suspect locked the rears and then the fronts - car instantly stalled and I lost brake boosting, so no chance of modulation. Went straight on and managed to get enough speed off to eventually 'hit' the wall at walking pace. Literally the first thought after coming to a stop was "well, the airbags didn't go off and there's no steam, so it can't be too bad" and aside from a bent front plate and broken cover the Jaffa was pretty much undamaged.
Top little track with ongoing lessons in late turn-in and an ongoing battle with Clive (red NA) and Lindsay (black yellow and chrome NB who treks down from Townsville). Forgot my camera and my external GPS antenna so the phone's best guess was around 1:07.7 or so. Never quite got to grips with the double apex turn 1 - you'd go okay one lap and then try something a little different and suddenly you were a second down. Had a little success with leaving it in 3rd and just engine braking it in the last couple of sessions.
Good lessons from the Skid Control guys - it was definitely worth getting the ride in the 86 and seeing the instructor's constant steering input.
