Running into issues

Car has a misfire. It happens when the Boost is turned up.

Tried changing the coil pack which works for 1 run but after that it misfire again!!!! Then swap back and the same thing!!!

Anyone had a similar problem?

Magpie was getting a miss from the cas sensor. Fixed with a cable tie.
How much did you turn the boost up to? I can't comment on the stock coils as i swapped to toyota cops for my build and have had no issues.

Mania tried changing the CAS, didn't fix.

It ran at 6-7 on the first run then misfired on the second

220hp is all you really want without *blowing* / *testing* the engine.
However 7k, wow, im sitting at 14psi on a td04 ($100) and am somewhere over 200hp. i suppose i built my own dp/manifold/exhaust/cops etc etc.
The welds sure dont look as pretty but at the end of the day they are glorified pipes.

Talk to Brendon Beavis about his LS ignition conversion.
UK since return: Standard NC2 (horrid), C200K, ND2 BBR, NC2 BBR200 (loved it), NC BBR300 (better than BARMY), V-Special, turbo NB8B (my 84th car)

Not to be rude but I'm not here to compare pipes.

Would love to spend less but I don't have the skills nor equipment.

Post was to share my build and now we are running into a few challenges. I believe it's to do with the Megasquirt 3 diy.

You aren't the one being rude.

Tried new leads and plugs? What plugs? What gap?

What sort of challenges with the MS3? Who built it?

MX5 mania put in new plugs and tried switching up coils, not sure if the leads were changed. They gapped the plugs but not sure to what.

The unusual thing is it does one power run then starts playing up. Let it rest for a while and it does it again.

Ecu was build buy a gentleman in Vic. Given the circumstances he has been helpful. He is sending out another ecu just to rule out. He said it may be the coil drivers on the ecu but i wanted to know if anyone else has something similar to ensure we have everything covered off

While there isn't a resolution for this one. And it may be a different issue. As well as yours being a ms3. I'd keep my eyes out on this thread.

I'd say that mania would have everything covered.

Is great that another ecu is being sent.

Just spit balling here but since it happens when attempting to raise the boost, could be map sensor, boost control or injector drivers as mentioned.

Failing that possibly a wiring gremlin.

The new ecu should rule out all of the above except the wiring, unless it is a boost setting but again, suspect mania would be all over it.

Fingers crossed the problem is fixed with the ecu :)

Thanks, the only thing is it's not cooking the ignitor.
