Tips for long term Mx5 Storage

Thanks to the wonders of our serendipitous (I hope) economy, it's been three months since the White Mouse turned a wheel in anger (or at all).

It's got half a tank of e85 sitting in it and engine oil that's done 8 return trips to the top of Mount Panorama.

For the sake of the battery, I've picked up a trickle/float battery charger, which has a nice reassuring green led.

Is the e85 going to result in spontaneous destruction of my fuel system if left to sit?

Any real world tips for medium-term car storage?

Personally I would drain the E85 and replace it with unleaded if you have a flex fuel sensor as E85 is hygroscopic. Put about 10 ltrs of 98 into the tank and run the car to get rid of all the E85.

I would jack the car up and put it on stands, leave the hand brake off and pump the tyres up more than normal to allow for pressure loss over time.

Then again I do most this after almost every track day if the car is not getting used in the next 7 days. I drain and replace the E85 if the car is not being used for a few weeks.

put new oil in as well, specially running e85, I change mine after every event, Stabil the E85, run the motor up to temp, oh and fill the tank....happy days

Ah, one more thing, change the fuel filter near the tank, probably do that before you wake it up
