Anyway after all the comments I think I will do what I said originally, keep the stock fuel line, and just keep an eye on it and just buy the parts needed eg. The flex sensor and fuel pump, I've read and read and read countless topics on here and miataturbo saying the stock lines are just fine

So I ended up buying a whole new fuel setup, I made a crappy image just so I could work out what I needed, it's similar to flying miatas idea just all of the fuel components are in the engine bay, any thoughts would be nice. Thanks

I would run the filter BEFORE anything. So you are going to a returnless system?

So you think run the filter on the other side of the AFPR, or before the hard line.
I've got an nb, so it is already returnless, I was considering buying the na fuel rail and fuel pressure regulator to make it a return, though I've read the fuel rail doesn't really fit in the nb

Also I have bought what I needed am just considering what filter to get, how much of a difference is there between something like Earls and Aeroflow, I've spent the money to get all the stuff so that's not really the issue, but the earls one is $150 and the aeroflow one is $30

The oem filter is before the hard line, if that's what you mean.
Though I'm going to change it to an aftermarket one with the same size fittings as the rest of the parts

I would place it in the same place.
However I used a 40 micron filter after the tank pump and before the surge tank.
