Replacement front caliper NC
I have had the track oriented NC for 2 weeks. Last night i changed the front pads and was shocked at the weight of the calipers. Is there a lighter replacement caliper that just bolts on?

Re: Replacement front caliper NC
Russell has 4 piston calipers that utilise the original rotors. Not sure what brand or how much they were.
Im sure he will be at the next club track day.

I had a look at Goodwin and the Wilwoods all use bigger diameter rotors etc.
I'm mainly concerned with the weight of the stock NC calipers.
Aluminum alloy 4 piston calipers should be much lighter.
Seems to me NC brakes are fine for stopping/slowing power but unsprung weight is horrendous.

I can tell you 100%, you will spend time and money changing the brakes and it won't make any difference, don't change what is not broken....worry more about driving faster.

I am with you Boyracer. I would be concentrating on track time and getting faster. When you can replicate Dan's times in the car then maybe look at those sort of mods. Leaving the car as is gives you a good benchmark to shoot at.

I agree with the above thoughts that it won't make much difference.
If I was to change something to reduce unsprung weight I'd go with lighter wheels like the TC105N's that were on the car previously.
Reason being you'd probably save similar net weight, you reduce rotating mass and you reduce the weight on the rear as well as the front.
