What a great afternoon, it was a heap of fun getting onto the track again, it's been too long. Thanks to Adam for his efforts and to Keith for letting me loose in his sparkly.
Great to hear Red_Bullet, glad to be of assistance . I look forward to seeing things from your perspective, from where I was sitting it did feel a little taily till I had a bit of a tinker with the dampers.

On the National the Porsche and myself were having a fun time. Until we found the spun out corvette (between T4-T5), my predictive timer was showing on track to go under 1:27. No video available due to my 'comments' plus the front facing camera's mount was loose so it is a bit shaky.
However I do have you Vat on the rear facing camera for some of the national.

Re: MX5 Car Club QLD - TD3 15/0/17 PM at QR
Great afternoon. 7 sessions is getting back toward how the club days used to run. Things got shaken up a bit with Doug leaving QR, but they've gotten it together and are definitely providing the club with the most value per dollar that they can. Thanks to Adam and the staff at QR for making sure everything ran smoothly.
I didn't have the most productive time during the three Clubman sessions, unfortunately it turns out I've murdered my front tyres a lot more than my rears, and having swapped them end to end I was not able to adjust my suspension etc to compensate for the lower rear grip. As a result I was endlessly getting sideways in low speed corners like the dipper and turn 6. I rotated the tyres back to their normal spots before the Sprint sessions began, and managed to match my previous PB on the second session.
Here's me very nearly losing it at the dipper even with the tyres corrected. I knew these tyres can snap suddenly, but this was almost out of nowhere. It actually didn't let go until the weight was coming back down after the crest, which is interesting. Got away with it barely, but that's good enough.
And here is the sprint PB. Fairly happy to still be doing 141kmh minimum through T1 on massacred front tyres, goes to show there was a lot more in them back when I set my PB a year ago and the tyres were brand new.

That was a heap of fun chasing you in those last two sprint sessions Craig. Great for you get a pb when you must have been a bit cautious going inside Simon on T6.

A bit lucky that Simon and I have enjoyed some very close running together at QR over the last couple of months and have built up good trust - the moment I saw him head left I knew he was letting me through and was going to leave room

adidistyle wrote:Thanks to all who have entered and paid. There are 38 runners all up which is a nice comfortable number on track. Would have been over forty except for a couple of exploding engines There a several first timers, so please make them welcome and offer assistance if they are looking a bit lost.
Paperwork
The first thing to do is sort out your QR paperwork and get your wristband. Do this at the office at the base of the control tower.
Then find me next door and give me your MX5CQ Indemnity form (attached to this email).
Novice's Information Session
QR is a relatively easy track to drive, but difficult to master. It might be a bit damp tomorrow, just for extra challenge. If you are a first timer, or returning after a long spell, there will be extra information immediately following the main driver's briefing. Time permitting, there will be a couple of sighting laps before we run each track configuration
CTP Insurance Extension
Don't forget to organise your CTP Insurance Extension: Not mandatory but highly recommended. You might be able to do that over the phone on Monday morning, if you haven't already.
Groups and Starting Order
Are attached. As always, this is for the first run only. Please adjust your position in the line-up according to actual times on the day, posted about 10 minutes after your session finishes.
Drivers Briefing 12:15pm
The Driver's Briefing is at 12:15pm. This is mandatory for ALL drivers.
General information
BYO Food & drink, or the Cafe will be operating until about 3pm, as usual. It will be mild, but you still need fuel and plenty of water.
Compressed air is available on-site. If you are unsure about tyre pressures ask around the pits: there is plenty of experience there.
No fuel is available on-site. Servos are about 7km away.
Thanks Adam for a well run day.
Had a great time on track with Max
Not much between us in times, slow of course compared to you guys. Really enjoyed the day .. cheers Mark !

That was a very noisy car in front of you on the National...
Unfortunately my forward facing camera had come a drift and gave rather bumpy footage, however the rear one caught some good action
