Re: The Roadster NA Journey Begins
Back on topic, after almost 99 pages...
A suggestion from a friend I made at WTAC last year (Lone Wolf Racing) was to make the base plate larger....
Well turns out it was a good suggestion, the load is better spread and when it is attached with some sikaflex it should provide a decent solution for the moment whilst I decide on the final wing choice... The boot moves more on its hinges than it does at the mount!

The plate now extends to the edge of the boot bracing. It may even be possible to put an eyelet in (through the support plate) and then add some wire supports. May even be possible to put a support from the boot up to the plate or even cut the slot in the supports and run the plate the entire width of the boot.

Re: The Roadster NA Journey Begins
Will complete the fix today and re assemble.
Took the opportunity to test out another green... This is Kawasaki Lime Green. Need to contact Lokiel and get some pointers on how to colour the wing angle adjusters. Red would look fantastic with the green.

No, almost decided the colour(s) that the shell will be painted. Waiting for the WTAC announcement before deciding the when. That is the new splitter and flared front guards, how will they be painted planned or current colours...

Attached the wing back onto the car. There is more movement in the boot itself than the mounts, just needs a test now.
Find out about WTAC tomorrow (sometime). Could be spending mother's day at Lakeside in the morning, subject to other half's approval (health). If we can get married at Lakeside having mothers day there is a non issue

Depending on timing and various other factors I might see if I can drop by and say hello before running off for mother's day lunch.

See you there, believe Shane will be there as well. Have to get the BAP's for club points
Wing back on, even in florescent light they are 'bright'. The edge of the plate can be seen and the distortion caused to the boot over the past 3 years is very evident.
The roof scoop (Kawasaki Candy Apple Green)
Many thanks to MX5 Car Parts for these shiny things... An old set of AD08R's are being put on today to test fit on the car

Awesome
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Re: The Roadster NA Journey Begins
Test fit up last night. I used my 2015 WTAC AD08R's as these will be replaced with the 2017 WTAC AD08R's. They are still suitable for a track day so may 'test' them on the QLD MX5 club track day for a session.
Photos were taken early this morning, will take it outside for a wash on Saturday so should get some better photos. Also took the opportunity to fully inspect the 6UL's and they are still in great condition (no craks).
- The 205/50's look a little stretched however when you stack the tyres the rims do not contact each other.
- Had to cable tie the brake lines as they ran the risk of getting 'crushed'/pinched. Looked like the drivers side line brake line had already been a 'victim' to some previous rubbing. The brake line is not compromised and does not need to be replaced, just watched.
- No guard rolling required The car is still on stands so the wheel was jacked up to the point it started to lift the car and there was no touching, even at full lock. The front tyre temp sensors will need to be moved as they are very close to the tyre at full lock only.
- They are LIGHT 13kg each with tyres!
