Black Submarine

Postby BLU-125 » Wed Apr 26, 2017 9:38 pm

My black, turboed NA6 fun car which has been to Lakeside, QR and Grafton Hillclimb a few times in the last few years had swimming lessons recently, along with my NPR300 motor home. As there was a metre of water over the top of the MX-5 on the higher ground we took it to, I assumed it would be an uninsured write off. After a bit of prodding from a mate, due to its fate, it has been accepted by Sean for the LeMons event at QR as long as we lost the turbo. Spent the day, today, picking up a BF tow barge, steel for the front cage and arranging cage building. Bought a couple of second hand 1600 NA engines, one of which has an exhaust manifold, so we will probably run the old motor, but we will have a spare. We'll probably replace brake rotors & fresh QFM pads. Plan to fit the hardtop off my red NA permanently on the Black Submarine and I will leave the heater in......if it works.

We drained the water out of the motor......lots, gearbox.......about a cup and diff.....none. Computer removed and dried. Hopefully on the Dino in about ten days......

Well that's a bugger to hear, just after you got yourself going again.
At least all is not lost.
