Also registered and paid. Have found around 1.5 seconds on the Clubman variation in two Midweek Sprints visits since the Club was there last in August 2016 so looking forward to applying those lessons, and tacking the other variations for a bit of a change! Will also be nice not to head across town in Brisbane peak hour traffic in the afternoon, too!

Re: MX5 Car Club QLD - TD3 15/0/17 PM at QR
Thanks to all who have signed up. I had to bring the admin dates forward as I will be away for the 5 days immediately prior to the trackday.
My club email is down at the moment, but I will send confirmations to all once it is revived.
Like my email, numbers for TD3 are also down. A bit of a worry as it looks like I am going to burn the reserve I had set aside to underwrite Norwell. So if you've got a mate, now would a great time to recruit them!

Registered and paid. Really looking forward to the cooler weather. Ross - if you are still coming, it would be great to get some handling feedback. We'll warm the seat up...

Car serviced, will heat cycle some tyres this weekend, then try them at the Club day. Aiming for a sub 60 on the sprint, 63 clubman and a 85 on the national.

I'll be there, entered and paid on Sunday. The car may or may not still be covered in diesel from the last skidpan I did. I'm sure I can find time to wash it between now and the 15th...

Pre-paid entries are now closed. Entries will be possible on the day, cash only, $200.
Thanks to the 36 people who have signed up and paid. I was worried we weren't going to get the numbers!
I will send out Groups and running order soon, then I will be off the air until Sunday night.
Cheers all.

Re: MX5 Car Club QLD - TD3 15/0/17 PM at QR
Thanks to all who have entered and paid. There are 38 runners all up which is a nice comfortable number on track. Would have been over forty except for a couple of exploding engines There a several first timers, so please make them welcome and offer assistance if they are looking a bit lost.
Paperwork
The first thing to do is sort out your QR paperwork and get your wristband. Do this at the office at the base of the control tower.
Then find me next door and give me your MX5CQ Indemnity form (attached to this email).
Novice's Information Session
QR is a relatively easy track to drive, but difficult to master. It might be a bit damp tomorrow, just for extra challenge. If you are a first timer, or returning after a long spell, there will be extra information immediately following the main driver's briefing. Time permitting, there will be a couple of sighting laps before we run each track configuration
CTP Insurance Extension
Don't forget to organise your CTP Insurance Extension: Not mandatory but highly recommended. You might be able to do that over the phone on Monday morning, if you haven't already.
Groups and Starting Order
Are attached. As always, this is for the first run only. Please adjust your position in the line-up according to actual times on the day, posted about 10 minutes after your session finishes.
Drivers Briefing 12:15pm
The Driver's Briefing is at 12:15pm. This is mandatory for ALL drivers.
General information
BYO Food & drink, or the Cafe will be operating until about 3pm, as usual. It will be mild, but you still need fuel and plenty of water.
Compressed air is available on-site. If you are unsure about tyre pressures ask around the pits: there is plenty of experience there.
No fuel is available on-site. Servos are about 7km away.

Very enjoyable afternoon me for. As much as anything it was a shakedown for the car after having it in pieces since December, and the result is that almost everything is working as I want it too. Very happy with my times too.
As always, a very well organised event - thanks Adam

Yes agreed, So well organised Adam, thanks also to to the QR crew, this was the most enjoyable day so far at QR, I was grateful to find myself behind the venerable Tim Anson, very instructive learning from his lines and braking decisions. A great day out and 2 new PB's by over 1 second. Thanks Tim! I have some interesting footage of Sparkley getting loose in the rear in turn 1 on more than one occasion, now I have to remember how to video edit to remove the boring bits.

Re: MX5 Car Club QLD - TD3 15/0/17 PM at QR
Cheers to Adam and the QR crew for a smoothly run and well organised day. We got through 3 Clubmans, 3 Sprints and a National - thought we might have had more time to do the Sportsman, but couldn't tell you where the time went as we seemed to be turning the groups over pretty quickly.
Took me a little while to hook but ended up with a 4 hundredths PB on the Sprint and taking 5 seconds off my two year old PB on the National so that's a bit more representative. Towed Adam through to a sub 64 on the Sprint with him in my mirrors through the session after nearly falling off the final couple of corners on the warm up lap...
Most entertainment of the day was the endlessly spinning Corvette - I put a move on him into the last hairpin in the first or second session, and was taking it easy because of the compromised line - I could hear tyre squeal through the corner which puzzled me as the AD08Rs aren't 'squealy' tyres, plus I wasn't particularly up it. A quick glance in the mirror to check on the Corvette revealed it had been dropped under braking/turn in and was making its way into the gravel trap, hence the tyre noise. This was but one of numerous incidents for that particular example of American muscle cars.
Usual friendly and chatty crowd - a few new faces and visitors, think everyone was made welcome.
Videos soon. Yes, you Simon...
