Harness mounting backing plates - CAMS compliant

Postby S2-13BT » Thu Apr 20, 2017 3:57 pm

Anyone know a good source for CAMS compliant harness mounting plates? I notice most of the ones that come up in a google search are FIA spec and are too small to meet CAMS specs.

Or do people just make there own?

Thanks.

Just as easy to make your own. It's only a 3inch x 2inch piece of 3mm steel.

Thanks Magpie, I was looking at those but they technically don't meet CAMS specs. One side has to be at least 75mm.

The Cams requirement used to be based on area. The RI plates are 65x65, which is a greater area than 75x50 !
Ridiculous, if they get knocked back.

Circular would be best. 74 mm diameter has more area than 65x65 and no sharp corners to initiate tearing.
They need engineers setting the specification.
