Ok I've ordered about 5m of some braided teflon fuel hose rated at 250 deg and some PSI rating I'll never need in 10 lifetimes.
Apperntly ths stuff doesnt take on the smell either

I'll replace the fuel filter (which is brand new) in about a months time. I may also check on fuel pump & how dirty the tank may be at around that time.

Injector Dead Time. (latency)

I've been having problems with hot start which got me researching injector dead time. I'm running RX-8 yellow injectors 440 cc. Part number 195500-4450.

Anyway I came across some info from the rotary people regarding these injectors.

6.5 Volts 2.866ms
7.75 volts 1.901ms
9 volts 1.409ms
10.25 volts 1.095ms
11.5 volts .821ms
12.75 volts .660ms
14 volts .510ms
15.25 volts .411ms
16.5 volts .287ms

Doing some maths reveals

At 13.2 volts the deadtime is 0.6ms

which in megatune converts to a dead time table table of:
7.75 volts 317%
10.25 volts 182.5%
11.5 volts 137%
12.75 volts 110%
13.2 volts 100%
14 volts 85%
15.25 volts 68.5%
16.5 volts 47.8%

Going to load up these dead times and will report back results. I note that at 13.2 volts the deadtime is 0.6ms, which is a lot less than the Tunerstudio default of 1.0 ms

how did you go with that Red Bullet?
Received the Rx8 Injectors today.

Dead times are anywhere between 0.6-1.0 researching on the net

its going into a MS2 PnP the assumption that
the Battery Voltage correction is Dead time/voltage
If was to set the dead time around 0.8ms that would make the correction at 0.060ms ?

I tried those settings briefly but was too far down the road with my tune anyway. It was ages ago but I do recall it running really rich at idle (I think). Couldn't be bothered with investing more time in the low duty cycle area of the tune so I just returned to my original settings for dead time.

My hot start issues were related to too much fuel during hot start. Leaned that out and fixed my hot start issues.

If I was tuning from new I would be happy to give those dead times a go.

Correction to above^^^^^

Using the modified Dead time table made it run LEAN at the low duty cycle area. I couldn't be bothered fiddling with it as detailed above as it was already dialled in. So I went back to original table.

My old injectors were totally flocked. it runs sooo much smoother OMG!!!!!

I'm trying to get my Android MSTrackIt App running on MS2s (currently running on MS3s) and StanTheMan has been assisting me with this (see http://mx5cartalk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=81&t=74657).

On the MS3, the mainController.ini file defines the vehicle speed in variable "vss1_ms_1", Vehicle Speed Sensor 1 in metres per second, and I use that to retrieve the vehicle speed.

Scanning through the MS2's mainController.ini file I can't see anything that looks like vehicle speed in the [Datalog] and [OutputChannels] sections.

How is speed retrieved from the MS2?
Is it calculated from multiple MS2 values and if so, which ones?

Any help appreciated.

I'm considering getting MS'd as a step towards eventual forced induction of my car ('95 NA8 manual). What I'd like to do is similar to above though, and run E85 while N/A for awhile.

On the flip side, my car is budget oriented and I'd like to keep it that way... In my head I went straight to the MS3 pro PNP, but maybe I should look at the MS2 based PNP keeping the lower cost in mind. Am I making a mistake, or as I expect the MS2 is going to do everything I need and be awesome.

Oh, I'd like to go plug and play, because I'm not an electronics guy and my soldering skills aren't great!

Any advice?

Yes the MS2 is cheaper but it's also about 10 years old now.

E85 is nice.....getting tired of constantly filling up.
Most of my stuff is slow peak hr crawl with the dramatic cams idling on 65 Mpa .....sucking it in.
The Flex fuel sensor is a must for me.
MS3 does it much better.

Getting my head around the flex fuel sensor..MS2 PnP...I thought I had it all worked out with the table switching. But a have a sneaking suspicion it doesn't actually work that way.

I understand. I used my SG Forester as a daily on E85 for about 12 months... Basically became buddies with the guys down at United.

Short answer - No.

I use Eddie at Autotech in Hume for the racecar, but that is a PS1000, and I will be asking him if does them. If I get a MS it will be through Dann and he will tune it, but cold start is not something that can be reliably done in Newcastle for Canberra's -6 to -8 winter mornings. At least that has been my experience over the years with Sydney tuners.

There may be a MS in my future, so I am really interested in what you come up with.

Now, if you will excuse me, I better get on with reading this thread .

I had my Forester remote tuned for E85 and I had to sort out cold start myself. Wasn't too difficult. Literally just add more fuel (using coolant temp compensation tables) till it starts reliably. I had no troubles starting the car on the coldest morning.

Maybe there's a good remote tuner available somewhere?
