The prices for the stuff I do around Sydney is:
CAMS Supersprints - $160+
MX5 Club - $150
Track School - $250
Circuit Club - $280
RTDC - $175
Speed off the streets - $150
ARDC Private Practice - $160 ($130 with ARDC membership)
ARDC Track Day - $340 ($170 twice a year ARDC membership)

I can't recall any of these days going up a lot in cost over the last few years which is sort of surprising but I think most companies do ok so probably don’t see a reason to change it too much.

The way I see it an extra $50 or $100 doesn’t make a big difference to the cost of the day since just the consumable cost on my car is over $400 (fuel, tyres, fluids, pads, rotors).

Some days are just better value than others though, for example at the Trackschool days I can pretty much count on getting well over 100 laps in at Wakefield if I want to which is double some other days so the cost per lap is really good.

Yes the other costs are significant.
I live 2 hours from Eastern Creek and 4 hours from Wakefield Park.
It is certainly not practical to drive to Wakefield on the day and marginal for Eastern Creek.
So I am up for $70+ for the night before at Wakefield and $180 for a night before at Eastern Creek.
300km round trip to EC would cost 30 litres in the MX-5, say $45 or 70 litres in the Patrol towing, say $100.
660 km round trip to Wakefield would cost 66 litres in the MX-5, say $100 or 100 litres in the Patrol towing, say $150.

Trackschool platinum trackdays look like good value, 7 hours of tracktime, limited to 25 cars, access to professional tuition, $495

You are not comparing apples with apples there:
WP & SMP South track hire cost is 50% of hire at SMP North or GP.
So comparing fee to track hire only, SMP North & GP is better value, but of course track preference comes into it.

Comparison was not the intention, just a list.
You get what you pay for. Ringwood hillclimb is cheap but you don't get a lot of track time. And thus less tyre wear and brake wear and less fuel used. Also only 70 km from Wangi, less than an hour driving and under $20 fuel for the return trip and no Accomodation cost.

I'm not complaining about the entry fee for tomorrow. $220 as a proportion of the total cost of close to $1000km. Reduce it by $40 to run at the south circuit. 180 as a proportion of 960. Insignificant as Dan says. We get a minimum of 20 timed laps? of the 2.8 km circuit for our $220
