Thanks for that Daffy, spent the day chasing the neighbours cows & calves that got washed downstream. Tweed area not actually so bad, but Lismore broke the levee walls that were built to the 1954 flood level - disastrous.

Well it appears to be a clean car at a fair price. Post some pics Kieron.
Never put the top up unless the storm has a name.

If there are flood waters don't drive an MX-5 through them- they would have next to no tolerance to water being so low. . Whilst I have not lived in these flood prone areas I do know that any car or 4WD can be killed with water getting into the engine. I wonder even how insurance deals with cars and floods?

Took New England Highway and faced a 1 minute detour, we slowed down through Tamworth to Pacific Highway just in case we hit a kangaroo and I fell in love with the car through the journey home.

Introductory thread with plans coming soon.

An insurer won't be helpful if you knowingly drive into a flood and hydrostatically lock your motor.

It would be different if there was an unexpected flood overnight after you'd parked your car in the reasonable belief that it was in a safe place.

All scenarios in between the two above would be grey areas for whether and how much you'd get paid out.
UK since return: Standard NC2 (horrid), C200K, ND2 BBR, NC2 BBR200 (loved it), NC BBR300 (better than BARMY), V-Special, turbo NB8B (my 84th car)
