Local source for daily driving gloves

Postby Lokiel » Thu Mar 16, 2017 10:38 am

For anyone who's interested in finding a good local source of daily driving gloves:

On "The Big Forum", post#8 at https://forum.miata.net/vb/showthread.php?p=8422248#post8422248 mentioned:
kangaroo skin gloves
If you're looking for gloves that have the attributes of extreme softness, lightness and durability, you should be looking at gloves made from the best hide applicable for that application. In this case, I believe kangaroo hide meets the bill, which is why I bought a left and right combination of Kakadu Golf gloves, http://www.kakadugolfglove.com/golf/ in black.

They can be worn all years round if desired. In winter, with the top down naturally, I use the dash face vents to direct warm air to my hands, and I couldn't be more comfortable.

Check them out. I'm sure you will be very pleased with their performance.

I've e-mailed them regarding marketing a set for driving, as opposed to buying a Left and Right glove separately, there's definitely a market for them which they probably haven't considered.

Great idea Lokiel. Plus, when you arrive at the golf course you just take one off!!

The gloves look like good value and comes with a recommendation by Lokiel. Some of us have a bit of collection of various gloves.

Now if you drive a traditional British sporting car especially an open vehicle you might go with tradition and get string backed leather faced driving gloves and of course a flat cap.

Magpies contribution - knitted vest and the really colourful flat cap look terrific. Flat caps have made a bit of comeback in fashion and very practical for just about everything. In the old days people wore hats because they spent so much time outside.

I got a pair of really nice English leather gloves from southcombe gloves in the UK. Shipped here in three days for about $40 on sale.

I managed to find left and right Nike golf gloves years ago for my driving gloves. The left glove is easy to find when buying, the right one was a bit a bit harder because most shops only stocked the left ones.

I liked Lokiels post with the well known actor's flat cap reversed. You would never know if its brand placement - my guess is no- the guy just likes Kangols- once all made in UK but not now. Incidentally it was quite common for guys driving open cars in the early days to reverse their caps to stay on their heads so its not just a modern thing that people do with baseball caps.
