I'm actually wondering if I should try & rebuild a "channel" at the bottom corner of the screen there, to direct water out better. I'm just thinking sickaflex or the like.

This is going to be epic.
The pock marks look like they've used a centre punch or similar to belt out the panel.

Unfortunately I'm thinking epic HUGE. This is getting way bigger than intended.

I meant epic as in good :)

You're going all out now and yes it is a huge undertaking but you know it will be completely rust free and just the way you want it.

Have you given any thoughts to converting to a NB dash?
Might be a little way off but worth considering before you reassemble.

I don't actually like the NB dash. Mine is in good nic too so, no I'm happy.
I'm just hoping I haven't bitten too much off. But I suppose, if you don't know, learn. :)

If you go NB dash you can get rid of that horrible blue NA dash.

Looking forward to seeing the finished job!

Given you have access to a welder, thought of fixing the quarter the same way you did the sill? Find a clean shell you can cut that section out of?

Yeah, that's the other option. I just don't like being that "Friend in need".

Time to buy a mig. Mine is a million years old and cost a few hundred second hand, and I bought a new torch for it, but it has paid for itself many times over.

Haha, I have the mig, just not the skills. My welding is ordinary at best.

That's true, but I would know there's a crappy weld under there.

those holes in the panel look to me like years ago when i'd drill a hole or in some cases several holes in the damaged area. I would then screw in a screw to lock the panel in and use the panel puller to pull out the dent. use mainly in hard to get places where you hard virtually no access or very little to do the repair.

then again I might be wrong too
