AN6 hose has an ID of 8.6mm
AN4 ID is 5.6mm

You could use AN6, however it will not fit 'snugly on every fuel line and will require the use of hose clamps instead of the stock spring clamps.

I wasnt planning on doing anything fancy.I was thinking of just replacing the OEM fuel hoses that already exists. Although it would look cool with fancy linkages & braided fuel lines

still trying to get my head around how those fitting work & How thy attach to the metal lines.

AN4 would then be the one to use for a straight swap.

Apparently ethanol molecules are smaller than petrol and can permeate through standard fuel hoses and cause sweat and vapours.

Probably not great on any car but especially bad if you run your fuel lines inside your race car as a few race guys have reported it getting quite fumey.

Best stuff to use is PTFE, but even with this you're supposed to make sure you use carbon impregnated Teflon lines to conduct static electricity so you don't get sparks. Not cheap though!

Ok I've ordered about 5m of some braided teflon fuel hose rated at 250 deg and some PSI rating I'll never need in 10 lifetimes.
Apperntly ths stuff doesnt take on the smell either

I'll replace the fuel filter (which is brand new) in about a months time. I may also check on fuel pump & how dirty the tank may be at around that time.

Been running E85 for a few years now and just swapped out some of the OEM hoses that showed no signs of deterioration or leaking.

These hoses were:
  1. Tank to hard line (feed/return)
  2. Feed either side of the fuel filter
The rest of the lines in the engine bay were replaced when the car's engine was built.

To do my fuel lines I used PFE400R-06BK - Black Push Lock Hose E85/Methanol -06AN from Dirt Devil Industries http://dirtdevilind.com.au/. Dirt Devil has HEAPS of stuff and it is not a safe place to browse in... Bonus, it is on my way home from work so I can order and pick up in the afternoon or it is open on Saturday AM.

An alternative source of fittings/hose is Ian Botecher Race parts (very close to home for me as well) http://ianboettcherraceparts.com.au/ they are a stockist of Aeroflow. Only issue with Ian Botecher is that the safety gear they sell (seats/suits/harness/etc) are geared towards speedway and are not always FIA compliant. Some CAMS events (WTAC) do not accept SFI-3.3/5 footware.

Interesting observation Dann.

If i based my recommendation on salesmanship then I would have to agree with you, he is not the most personable person to buy off. However he carries good stock levels, price is reasonable and is close to home. He even allowed the return unused fittings, cannot complain about that.
