Oh ok. Not finished yet but I've started with a litre. I'm not doing a full bare metal job. Basically I'm only going to bare metal where I have to.

And one of nature's laws means that the second version is never as good as the first version!

I didn't realise there was going to be a 2nd version.

Ok then. I've managed to do the "How to" again, & this time it worked.

Here is a link

I hope the link works

I managed to get some time to play yesterday & today. My mate came & cut the dent out of the sill, & welded a new piece in for me.

So now I've got all the stone guard crap off & the lower half of both sides of the car are back to bare metal. Image

The screen is now out & the surface all cleaned up. I think I've got it just in time, as there is a couple of bits of surface rust starting under there.

Five minutes after my last edit I made a decision. This has just become a bare metal respray.

While rubbing my car back, I found some early stage rust under the windscreen. It's not too bad but it prompted me to take all exterior panels back to bare metal to see what I've got.

Now that the back half is 90% bare metal, the worst I've found is an old repair on the drivers side rear quarter.
I don't know what they've done but once I removed the small amount of bog, I found these pock marks & pin holes. I'm thinking I'll just fill them with spot welds. Can someone with experience in bodywork please advise?

I've got this 7 piece rubber dolly set if you'd like to borrow it:

It's bloody expensive and I've only used it once on the SP23 so I'd be happy to loan it to you for the duration of your re-spray (I hate it when I buy expensive tools that I don't use much and I suspect you do too).

PS: A couple of the dollies do resemble sex toys to the un-initiated so don't open the kit in front of the neighbors or you may get a new undeserved reputation (if you don't have it already).

Ahh mate you crack me up sometimes. Thanks for the offer. I will definitely keep it in mind. I'm not sure if I'll need it at the moment though. But , yeah I hate buying sh*t I don't use. Like the Stud welder attachment for my mig welder.

All NAs have a little rust at bottom corners of windshield (whether visible or not).
