Its been discussed to death but the slowest bolt on turbo kits are faster than the best bolt on blower kits.

I cannot remember the last turbo kit we did which was slower than the best blown mx5 ive ever been in.

It's good to hear this from someone that has experience with these type of builds.
Thank you.

Based on my own limited experience with these setups I've discovered the following:

From a cost perspective my budget turbo kit worked out to be cheaper than the SC kit.
Including intercoolers and exhausts, the turbo kit worked out to be $500 cheaper.

Same supporting mods required;
ECU, clutch, injectors, intercooler and piping.
Think the only difference was that I had to tap the sump and I run a different exhaust.

The SC required a accelerator bracket and 2nd cable made.

With the turbo, the engine bay is less cluttered and the turbo gear is possibly lighter than the SC.

From a stock perspective the SC was a decent increase in power but not as good as a turbo.

From a time perspective (now that I've done one), both kits can be installed in about the same amount of time.
It's just a matter of knowing what is needed and where to get it.

The turbo is also happier to run more boost before exceeding its efficiency limits.

I understand that people choose different things for different reasons.

For instance, my brother prefers the idea of a supercharger due to the marketing of bolt on, less engine stress and the fear of turbo lag.
In reality the engine can easily take the punishment and mine has 254,000 kms on it.

Both journeys have been fun and I've learnt a lot along the way.

If I was to do it again, I wouldn't even consider the supercharger.

Raybrigs arrived during the week.
Just fitted them up with standard bulbs until my philips 4300k clear vision bulbs arrive.

Also fixed the squeak in my clutch pedal.

Should be able to get some video tomorrow :)

Very true.
Was all experience and I'm glad that I've been there and done that. On a plus side I did recover the funds that I spent.
Had I not maybe I wouldn't be so happy for the experience.

I'm honoured. That reminds me, I need to update mine. I never see it (or anyone elses) since I'm always on tapatalk.
