Looking forward to the update.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

He's waiting for the last few parts to arrive, but i don't actually expect him to start the work for a week or two. Have arranged for Dann to do a 'before' run on the dyno, so at least we can track how much difference the work actually makes to the car in terms of numbers anyway. I'm sure it'll be a different beast to drive :)

So whilst the car is away at Dann's, I've been spending my time collecting a few other bits and pieces for the car.

Bought a couple of Sparco Sprints to install in the car when it gets back. Going to mount them on the original rails for now and see how I go with height. Just need a harness for the drivers side so I can use my HANS device etc on track.

Also bought a single din bluetooth stereo and a 3 gauge panel to replace the standard double din stereo. Think I just need a couple of wiring adapters to wire in the stereo.

Great progress so far. Keen to see how it turns out.
I was also tempted to drop off my car but had a big holiday and went over budget so will have to wait before my SE gets some steroids...

Trying to do a bit of research of installing the Sparcos in the SE. From what I can gather, the drivers side seat rails will bolt onto the Sprint seat with a couple of new holes drilled into the rails, but the passengers seat doesn't. Does that sound right?

What about seat belt stalks. Do I need some NA6 ones, and is there a place to bolt them to the chassis like the NA6 has?

You'll need NA6 stalks and some backing plates/nuts to fasten them to. My old NA8 had the required holes for the NA6 stalks, but my NB8C didn't.

It's a bit of a fiddle, because each stalk requires two holes - a large one for the bolt and a small one for the lug on the stalk that stops if from flopping down when not in use.

I bought the NA6 stalks from Automotive Plus, and the backing plates of eBay from some Motorsport people in Tasmania.

Once you get the na6 stalks, you need to remove the plastic stalk part so you can feed it through the hole in the side of the seat.
You can leave it on but it will jabb you in the bum every time you get in the car.

Thanks guys.

So I need to drill holes in the tunnel to take the NA6 stalks?

Will need to consider how I mount the harness as well.

Use the harness mounting bolts for the seatbelt stalk and the seatbelt on the opposite side.

2 birds, one stone. Or one hole, anyway.

You'll only be using one at a time in any case.

Yeah that's what I was sort of getting at in relation to the positioning.

Experiment a bit before you drill. I found that the hole location for ideal positioning of the stalk, was not ideal positioning for the harness strap mount.

Jass Performance in the UK do some adaptors for the sparco seat to factory rails that may make it a bit simpler.
