Wow. I was tossing up whether to go 15x8 or 15x9, and ended up going with the 15x8s. Had I known they had the 15x9s in stock I may have chosen to go that way.

Looking forward to seeing some photos of them on your car.

Yes the grey seem to have been sold out for a while but I'm glad the silver wasn't ;)

Lachlan's NA8B

New wheels have arrived! Seriously impressed by MX5parts.com.au for such a speedy delivery (having been ordered on Sunday night).
Went with 15x9 +35 Advanti Storm S1's because 15x8 +25 was a bit pushy for 225's in stock guards (rolled of course).
Hopefully the Hankook RS3's I've ordered in 225/45/15 are as good if not better than my 205/50/15 AD08R's!
So keen to see these on my car within a week!

Nice. So what size tyres did you previously run on the 8" wheels. 225/45/15 or 225/50/15?

I've run the RS3s on a Toyota 86 previously and found them to be a decent 'all rounder'. I would suggest not as sticky as the AD08s, but better on the road if that's what they be used for as well. It will be interesting to see how the 225 wide tyre goes on the 9" rim as opposed to the 205 wide tyre on the 8" rim, might even the difference in compound out.

Previous tyre was a 205/50 AD08R on the 7" storm :)

Watching the result on this, as I'm looking at the Advanti 15 x 8's.

Ah right, I was going off this comment, and thought you'd run a 225 on the 8" rim.

I'm going to try the 225/45/15 RS3s on the 15x8 +25, so was interested to see how much, if any, guard rolling I'd need to do.

Just a flat roll front and rear should be sufficient on your SE.

Are you limited to 8 wide by class rules Magpie?
I went from 7 to 9 on my car, definitely change the feel of the car for the better.

Have been coping so much flak for getting 9's and I'm glad to hear that about the step up!

Yes class limited. AD08R's max out at 205 in 15". Most people I have spoken to comment that 8" is optimum for 205.

I could go to 225's but would need to go to 16". I have about 6 sets of 15" rims so going to 16"'s would be expensive. I have heaps of 205 tyres :).
