Re: How to remove clubman boot sticker
Most car badges are affixed by double sided tape. To remove you heat them up carefully with a heat gun/hairdryer. That will soften the tape and adhesive and you should be able to carefully remove the badge - if necessary use some dental floss to run behind the badge and the body work to 'cut' through any stubborn parts of the adhesive/tape parts. Just get some 3M double adhesive tape to stick the badge back on,

Re: How to remove clubman boot sticker
lucmoor is right when it comes to a proper badge i.e. a plastic moulded badge e.g. like the thousands of Ford badges which were fixed with d/s tape. The Clubman version I think is just a sticker so it has adhesive on the back like a service label or old reg sticker. It would be easier just to mask it over.

Re: How to remove clubman boot sticker
Clubman boot lid sticker has an adhesive backing, but it's also not a simply manufactured sticker, although it can look that way after years of exposure on the boot lid. Try a hairdryer or masking as per above.

Re: How to remove clubman boot sticker
Mr Mortlock and 93 clubman are correct it is a sticker with raised surface and i dont think it will come off without damage after the sun damage the boot has
I think i will try the kids school book contact and a razor blade then try a spray, it an acrylic paint so ill redo if dodgy
Thanks 93 clubman for the guidance on a new sticker

Re: How to remove clubman boot sticker
I would try soaking it several times in goo remover and over a few hours see if it will penetrate to the back of the sticker. all you really need is a bit of a lift in one corner then get a grip :lol - and use a hairdryer on low heat and peel it back - it's gone

Re: How to remove clubman boot sticker
Billys idea would work, but since the clubman sticker is a resin rubbery domed thing from memory, you could discolour, or fog the resin.
I'd take some detailed photos of the sticker and just look on the web for a company that can make a replacement.

Yeah, the domed part is a lens over the whole sticker, which eventually deteriorates completely leaving just the adhesive backed flat Clubman sticker. A remake by the original sticker manufacturer & supporting businesses was facilitated by Mazda Australia & myself some years ago, so a supply is available.

Re: How to remove clubman boot sticker
forgot to add.....if you ever want to remove the adhesive residue from stickers attacked to the car I tried several. I found goo remover was by far the best of the lot and did the job extremely well.
some of the so called greens or friendly to the environment types were totally useless and would end up residing in the bottle till eternity

Re: How to remove clubman boot sticker
Thanks billy
I can go at the existing sticker with a chisel, hair dryer gunk, goo and all the best stuff because I thought a new Clubman 1993 sticker would be impossible to track down.
Gotta love a forum and the MX5 passion . I so happy i could
