Na8 weight

How can I find out the weight of an Na8 fully loaded, has to be accurate for VASS, would Mazda head office email details?

Put mine on weigh bridge it was 1035kg with hardtop and half a tank of fuel.
I then took 17kg of crap out of the car that I didn't need.
Sorry not sure my hardtop weight as they vary I would say around 15kg perhaps, it's very easy to lift off with one person and is demister type.

Weighbridge, they can usually provide a certificate from memory.

Or just head to your local dump, they usually have a weighbridge at the entrance and exit to know how much sh*t you've dumped and to charge a accordingly.

Many mechanic garages have the platetronic brake testing maching which also has calibrated scales good for the RMS/RTA/Vicroads/whatever.

You would need to get your terms correct as far as weight is concerned - GVM GCW etc. What does fully loaded mean? I would say that Mazda state some specific weights for all their vehicles.

FWIW, kerb weight of NA8 is 990kg - kerb weight = https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Curb_weight

Ask your engineer which weighbridge he prefers. Ask if he wants a front/rear split. Only cost $17.50. Be prepared to sit amongst some massive trucks.

When I said loaded I just meant the heaviest that series of car would have been, with all options such as A/C and hardtop.

Needs to be over the 1000kg mark to get the engine conversion done, NB would be the easier way but I've always had NA's, I prefer the look and I'd like to use club permit as well which wouldn't be possible with the NB. Weighbridge might be the answer then, cheers

G'day Mossy - long time.

My NA8 was 1033Kg over the Eastern Creek weighbridge. That was with BD rollbar, full standard interior, A/C. P/S, soft top (which I think I bought from you about 10 years ago

), 1/3 tank of fuel.

Definetely a long time mate, over 10 years I reckon. Sounds like it should be over 1000kgs, a hardtop will add at least 20kg's too.

Nevertheless my old VicRoads rego papers say its 950Kg. It's never been weighed. Maybe they just go off whatever they have in their database.

I had my stock '95 on a weigh bridge about a week ago. 1080kg with me in it (90kg), and 4/5ths fuel.

I am still not sure - not that it matters- why the car need " needs to be over the 1000kg mark to get the engine conversion done" If the vehicles is planned for CP in Victoria the engine conversion would need to at least be checked as well as the car might have to have an M plate or a VASS etc. You will not be able to change an engine without it being legal and noted- the RWC checker lists the eng nbr and if it does not agree with prev reg etc it will flag up.

As far as descriptions on cars by Vicroads are concerned details are often hit and miss. As far as weight is concerned if this was required to be stated you could pretty put in what you think is correct.. CP log book and data don't list the weight of the vehicle as a reference.

I should point out the reason I need it to be over 1000kgs is I want to do a 1UZ conversion which is a 4lt v8, the max I can fit in is car weight x 4.

Club permit would be preferred as it would get dríven probably once a week, my 240z is on a 45 day a year permit and i don't even reach that amount.
