Best way to grease caliper pins

Postby Tigger » Tue Feb 21, 2017 7:52 pm

Hi all
I have new pins and appropriate grease for my caliper slider pins, and wonder what the best method to do this would be.
When sticking grease in the hole and shoving the pin in (crude description), a pocket of air is created. Pushing harder and the air comes out, but creates a partial vacuum. Soooo, pulling the pin sucks it back in.
Is this what would ordinarily happen?
Thanks!

I think that you are overthinking this.
Just grease them up, shove them in and make sure the dust boots are in good condition.
Oh and don't put so much grease in that it is oozing out.

Yeah, it's literally just a matter of smearing grease over the pins with your finger.
As long as it's wet with grease it will be fine.
