But I'm not sure if that's the end of your idle issues though

I got my idle to do its thing manually by mucking around a bit. Autotune was set beyond idle in my case

You may still have to massage the VE table

Did I mention that the vacuum line to ecu was virtually cut in half.
About to put the battery back in and see what happens.

Today I broke out the soldering iron and soldered in the O2 and Boost wires onto the DB15.

I also removed some rubber and insulation to now clear the ECU.

Also cut down the vacuum line and reconnected it. It's now clear from being able to slice itself open.

To connect my MAC valve, in the engine bay I used the light green with red stripe wire that connects to the AFM for boost and put a spade terminal on the power wire and connected to the blue connector for 12v.

I only spliced into the AFM wiring so I could always chop it off and return to stock.

At the ecu end I chopped off the green/red wire about 4cm from the ECU and used bullet connectors to connect to my boost wire in the DB15.
If ever I need to return to stock, I can simply fit another bullet connector to the wire that comes from the ECU plug and reconnect to the loom wire.

Since I was soldering (and had heaps of bullet connectors), I removed the paper clips jumping the igniter wires and spliced and fitted more connectors.

I also did the same with the wire for the tacho. Again, if I ever need to return to stock I'd just disconnect the connectors.

Plugged in the laptop and drove out of my garage. The car was idling above 2,500 rpm.

Ran an autotune and it's now back down to 1,000.

Here's the engine at idle.

She's still a bit lumpy but much better than yesterday's efforts.

Here's the exhaust at idle.

So glad it was just my stupidity and I can now stop fault finding.

Only a few more sleeps and she'll be tuned.
At first I wanted 185kw on a built motor. With the stock motor and boost capped to 12 psi I'm hoping for 150/160kw.

Numbers aside, I just want her to drive really well and be reliable.

Thanks for baring with me the last couple of days :)

She makes me suffer to. That's the beauty of relationships. Haha
I've been doing most of this stuff whilst she's been asleep or doing her own things.

Was good to catch up on Friday. Next time just give me the date :)

The last few posts were a bit of a roller coaster!

Good to see you're on the One True Path to Boost again though :)

You'll get 160kW with the T28. With the EBC and a good tuner it really is amazing. Just easy, smooth power whenever you want it. I don't mean to tease you when you're so close but it'll be worth it all.

Yep. I hate being like that.

I'm under constant deadlines at work and have no issues. The moment I need to ensure my car is ready for the tuner I freak out.

I did the same thing this morning trying to get my exhaust bolted back up so I could drive 30 minutes away and play lego with the neice (5) and nephew (3) (there was a lego-building ... expo? i dunno, there was a LOT of lego there, we had a ball) ... I think it's a "my baby is broken" thing. Far more serious than work! :P

Freaked out because I was going to be late.
Bought the wrong nuts & bolts.
Freaked out more.
Locked myself out of the house.
Continued freaking out.
Borrowed a screwdriver off a neighbour so I could unscrew the window flyscreens.
Found my keys.
Didn't actually calm down.
Fixed the car.
Mad dash to the Lego.

Played with lego, built the biggest single-colour pyramid in a 10 minute "build-off" (there were many of various themes throughout the day). We - My sister, her husband and I - accidentally got a little bit competitive, the niece was bringing us pocket fulls of bricks, and the nephew was using the bricks to build something entirely different... so not really helping... but we destroyed those other kids, and won .... nothing at all. haha It was serious business!

It ended up being an awesome day!

Nice work on the roll bar too!
