Hi.
That knock off will work just as well as the original k & n. The ram tube in the kit will fit in the opening in the cowl. There are two threaded nuts in the cowl which held the washer bottle. Use these with long bolts and washers and you have an intake which straightens the air going to the filter and will give you small gains. You must keep the air as straight as you can into the intake manifold for performance gains.

May or may not be a knock off. If the pictured one is the actual item then there's the K&N name embossed into the bottom of the filter casing. Usually knock offs don't go as far as to put an actual brand name on it.

Like people say, stuff all improvement over stock.
Just drill the cold side of the panel box on the exterior side if you want some induction noise. Its also free.
