Re: Speed's boosted NA6
Mine settled a fair bit after driving around for a couple of months, you'll probably have to revisit the height adjustment.

Thanks for the heads up.
I'll be sure to check and adjust again prior to engineering

Re: Speed's boosted NA6
Did an oil change this morning.
Had to remove the inlet manifold brace so I could get to the filter under the car.
The coolant reroute makes it impossible to get to from the top.
Last night I had also used a new adhesive/sealant on the turbo drain fitting in the sump and let it cure for the full 16 hours. This one is rated to 205 degrees and is so far doing its job.
Also screwed on the standard issue yellow plates.
Then I met up with Nevyn72 and we went for a drive through the nasho and stopped at bald hill for some refreshments.
I was too busy yapping away to take any pics
Except this one where the driver of a red NB was to shy to stay and reversed out before i coukd get a shot of all 3 cars side by side.
But did get some on the side of the road before coming home
Was a really good drive and great to be out with another mx5.

So happy to be on the road.
The car goes well but is a bit hesitant off the line and could also use more than wastegate boost. She's also running a bit rich but I'm hoping to get her tuned very soon so none of that really matters.
Will be interesting to see what she makes at 12 psi.

Given you were travelling around the same pace as a lightly modded SE on while wastegate pressure only I'd say you'd be probably moving pretty briskly!

Re: Speed's boosted NA6
My new to me NB soft top had a latch that wouldn't click/lock.
I replaced it with a spare that I've had lying around and now it works perfectly.
Was also time to refit the undertray. Cut it out to suit my intercooler piping and gave it a good clean with degreaser.

Fitted into place.

I'm missing the 3 screws that join the undertray to the plastic grille.
Anyone know what they are and where I can get them from?

Drop it off Tuesday so it is cold Wednesday morning for them to sort it out.
See how it goes but they've done a ton of mx5's.
Just have mac valve and cops to install before then.
Will search Alex Barton's threads re the cops and I know I need to change the dwell settings so as not to fry them.

Thanks Dann, that means a great deal to me. I really appreciate the assistance you have provided by answering the occasional questions I've had.
Without you and a few others on this forum, this build would not have happened.

Congratulations, Speed! I've been reading along, but haven't had much to say or contribute, you've had it all covered. Can't wait to see how the tune turns out.

Re: Speed's boosted NA6
I've now thrown the cops in by just twisting the wires together to check it starts etc before tidying up the loom.
Problem is that the car won't idle smoothly, splutters and dies.
Seems to clean up a bit when reving.

I followed this diagram.

I've jumped wires as per the next pic.
(The 4th pin was just to confirm I get tacho)

I've earthed the coils to the bolt that holds the earth strap near the dip stick.
I've since set cranking to 3.5ms otherwise all settings are per the next pic.

Where have I gone wrong???
Should the tune be altered, I was expecting it to run smoother if anything.
I'm doing my head in as I need this sorted when I drop the car off on Tuesday.
Could really use some help.
Thanks.
